Your body is the temple of God. Lent is the perfect season to subdue the flesh of its lustful desires, offer it up to God in holiness and sanctify your body in order to draw closer to God. You have the spirit of God living on the inside of you and you can no longer treat your body just as you like. You must treat your body with great care and carry yourself as a child of God who is precious to the father in heaven.
Your body belongs to God. It is no longer yours once you accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior. You have been sealed with the spirit of God who dwells in you. Do not treat your body with levity, treat it with great care. Be cautious of what goes on the inside of you and what comes out from the inside. Though what really defiles a man is what comes out of his mouth, you must be cautious of what you feed your spirit, soul, and body during this season.
Make a declaration of faith to preserve your body
I declare my body is the temple of God. It has been made holy because the spirit of God in me who is holy. I was bought with a price. I will no longer treat my body with levity but I will honor God with my body. I have been joined together with the body of Christ, I am no longer separate from God but I have become one with God in the spirit. I will, therefore, be careful with what I feed my spirit, soul and body because of the Holy Spirit that lives in me. This is my declaration.
I declare my body is the temple of God not the temple of idols, lies, sexual immorality and all other sins attached to the lust of the flesh. I am being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. I will no longer live as unbelievers but as a believer who lives in the light and no longer has anything to do with darkness. This is my declaration.
I declare my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit whom I have from God. I am no longer in the realm of the flesh but in the spirit to live holy just as my God is holy. I am not my own for I have been bought with a price. I belong to Christ. I no longer live for myself alone but for Christ whose spirit dwells in me. I will flee immorality and glorify God in my body. This is my declaration.
