Lent Day 13: I Declare Get Thee Behind Me #Satan, The Lord Rebuke You.

How is it going with lent? Are you steadfast or have you fallen prey of the devices of Satan, Lucifer, the devil, the accuser of brethren? His old trick is using the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life to tempt and destroy a good spirit(1 John 2:16). He never sleeps until he achieves his purpose: to steal, to kill and to destroy(John 10:10). He patrols the earth looking for whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8, Job 1). He provokes to anger and tempts to destruction. He hates the upright at heart, targets those who fear God, tempts those who loves God and destroys the righteous without a cause(Job 2, Zechariah 3:1, Matthew 4:10).

Just after forty days and forty nights of fasting and praying, satan tempted Jesus three times in the wilderness. Three times, satan tempted Jesus with the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, and those three times, Jesus responded with, it is written and he won the battle through the power of spoken words. Have a look at their conversation below.

If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Matthew 4:3-11

Have you lost the battle to Satan or are you holding up and holding on to God? Through Christ, you can win the battle. Satan may come at you in different ways, with Christ on your side and the declaration of the written word of God, you too can win the battle. Call him whatever you may but satan has already lost the battle over your life because Christ has won the victory over the flesh just for you. So make a bold declaration and tell the devil the Lord rebuke you, get thee behind me.

Make a declaration of faith

I declare the Lord rebuke you satan, get thee behind me. I am not ignorant of your devices devil, you are an offence to me. Greater is He that is in me than you who is in the world. I will remain steadfast in faith and you cannot devour me. It is written that I have been given the power to thread upon snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing shall by any means hurt me. This is my declaration.

Matthew 16:23, 1 Peter 5:8-9, Zechariah 3:1, Matthew 4:10, 1 Chronicles 21:1, 1 John 4:4, Luke 10:19, 2 Cor. 2:11,

greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world

The Lord rebuke you satan
