Let’s Pray the Psalms for This Troubled Time

Friends! Jesus forewarned us of the many trouble we would encounter in this world and he assured us of the victory we have in him but we also have a part to play in winning the battle;

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.“.

John 16:33

We live in a troubled world where covid-19 has ravaged through nations causing a big pandemonium. Who knew there was anything like this that could bring China to a standstill and affect the global markets? The headlines are shocking and bad news spreads daily like a wildfire. And these things can be quite disheartening but we have Jesus Christ who we can thank for an assuring victory in him.

If we are faithful to God, God will be faithful to us every step of the way and He will fulfill his promises to us because he watches over his words to fulfill it. Although our afflictions may be many, the Lord delivers the righteous from them all” (Psalm 34:19). If we cry out to him collectively in prayer, he will strengthen us, guard us from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3) and none of the diseases ravaging through nations will fall on us.

“You have observed correctly,” said the LORD, “for I am watching over My word to accomplish it.”

Jeremiah 1:12
