Declaration of faith: I am fighting the good fight of faith and I am winning on a daily basis with Christ on my side. I have the strength I need to carry me through each day and angels are fighting my battles to give me victory all the days of my life.
Every Christian will encounter persecution in one form or the other in their lifetime. You could be persecuted for your faith, your new ideals or morals, for your image or your personality and it could be on anything. The reality in this world is that someday someone somewhere may choose to bully you, pick on you or persecute you for your Christian belief. It is part of an ongoing battle against the flesh when we choose to follow Christ. It is the cross we all carry in this world as children of God.
In his own words, Jesus said; “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24). This is the cross we carry for going against old beliefs and clinging on to a new belief in God. It is the cross of giving up on practising religion and swapping it for a true relationship with God. Carrying the cross means fighting against the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life for an entirely new life in Christ Jesus and this cross always attracts persecution of some form from the kingdom of darkness. It is the small price we all pay to follow the truth, the way and the life.
According to the Open Doors UK world watch list of the persecuted Christians, the top 5 most persecuted Christian countries in the world are being persecuted for their belief in Jesus Christ. Pakistan Christians are falsely accused of blasphemy, denied of education or work and churches are bombed. In Libya churches are forbidden, Christian migrants are targeted or sold into slavery. Somalian Christians can be killed on the spot because Islam is the only accepted religion in the country and the Bible, means instant execution. In Afghanistan Christians have to hide even after death. In North Korea leaders are worshipped like Gods, there is no freedom, people live under surveillance. And If I may add to this list, its the Northern Nigeria where Christians are killed and churches are set on fire during a Sunday church service.
We have all been and will all be persecuted for one thing or the other in our lifetime but how we respond to during persecution matters a great deal to Jesus. He said that; “everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:33). Jesus is ready to do whatever it takes for his followers to stand in faith. He is standing by the persecuted Christians in every battle and sending angels on guard to protect each person from all arrows of the enemies but are you ready to stand for Jesus in the face of persecution?
Every day may come with a different form of persecution against Christians worldwide and it could lead to or even mean death but how are we doing during different trials of our faith? Are we standing strong in our faith? Calling on God to save his children from persecution and trying all our possible best to strengthen our faith in the word of God? These scriptural declarations and faith affirmations will help us on this Christian journey and keep us focused on God. They will help change our perspectives from the current situation and refocus our minds on what really matters to God – us.
The more we speak the word over ourselves the more we change our world for the best and while you are speaking out loud these declarations over yourself, please remember to send and share these declarations with the persecuted Christians who need these too. Before you go, will you please take a moment to rate this post, leave a comment in the comment box and share this article with your loved ones or within your networks. It’ll go a long way in supporting this work. Let’s change our world together.
