Death is scary! No matter how old you are, you will never be ready. It separates us from what we know and it takes us to territory unknown. When death comes knocking, nobody is able to stand strong and face it alone. No matter how tall or short you are, no matter how rich or poor you may be, no matter how big or how skinny you may fancy yourself, a day of reckoning will beckon and you will answer to death’s call alone. Nobody can stand against death for you, you have to do it yourself. We all have to face him alone at some point in our lives and only Jesus can face him because he already won the battle against him.
As anointed and powerful as Jesus was, at just age 33 years old, Jesus of Nazareth who was brave and courageous enough to die on people’s behalf, cried out with a loud voice at the point of death saying; “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” Mathew 27:46 (NIV) – Jesus faced death alone. As dearly loved and as close to Jesus as Lazarus was, his influence could not stop him from facing death alone. He may have been given a second chance at life, this could not stop him from answering to the fateful call. He faced death all by himself until Jesus seized death on his behalf. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ yet a time came when he faced death alone, he was beheaded and his remains were buried by his disciples.
Billy Graham made a bold declaration of faith many years before his death saying; “My home is in heaven, I’m just travelling through this world”. Such declaration of faith must have encouraged and strengthened him to face death alone on that fateful day when he died at the age of 99 years old. With such foresight and insight into death, such faith and example are worth emulating. Perhaps you know someone who might be afraid of dying or facing death alone? or perhaps you are on your death bed and feeling afraid, alone, forsaken and dejected. Making a bold declaration of faith will strengthen you for the next journey to eternity. It’ll shift your focus away from the tribulations of this world and set your heart on the journey home to heaven.
Make a Bold Declaration of Faith with me Today
I declare that death is not the end of me. I have a home in heaven and I am looking forward to a peaceful enjoyable time with my maker who is in heaven. I am not afraid of facing death alone, he’s only doing his job to hasten my steps to meet my creator. Therefore, I am shedding off the weights of sin that held me bound on earth and my spirit has gained an eternal life through Jesus Christ who is the son of God. Henceforth I cross over from death to life, I cross over from sin to a life in the spirit eternal. I cross over to live with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places with the hosts of angels and the heavenly beings. Death no longer has its hold on me.

I declare that when I die on earth I will rise up with Christ in heaven who already won the battle over death for me. I believe that Jesus was sent from God the father to bring me salvation and through him, I will meet with God in heaven.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I declare that as my flesh dies today, my spirit is aligned with the spirit of Christ and I will live in Him through whom I have obtained eternal life and resurrection.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I declare that as my citizenship in heaven has come to its maturity, my body also shall be transformed to meet with Christ and I will live in an imperishable glorious body like that of Christ forevermore.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I believe in God and I also believe in Jesus. I believe that a great place has been prepared for me in heaven by Jesus Christ who promised it to me. I will not worry nor will I be anxious for the journey ahead. Where Jesus lives, I will live there also. Jesus is coming to take me home to the place where he has prepared for me. I am going home to be with Jesus my saviour.

Blessed be to God who gives me rest from hard labours and caused my good deeds to follow me into eternity.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalm 23:1-6 (ESV)
