Feeling abandoned? Jesus did too!
At the point of great persecution, Jesus was abandoned and betrayed by those closest to him. One of his closest disciples betrayed him. One of his best allies denied ever knowing him. The other ten disciples fled from the scene without any trace. And those followers? they were nowhere to be found!
Jesus the saviour, Emmanuel the healer, the comforter trapped in the human body yet free in his mind, burned in his flesh with pain and wounded in his heart by betrayal and abandonment! How could he have been so betrayed by those closest to him? Where did he do wrong?

Jesus Christ was condemned for your sake.
It is one of the horrible incidents anybody could ever experience in life. But Jesus Christ endured it so that you can have victory when you go through it in life. He was a righteous man who endured condemnation to death on the cross (1 Peter 3:18). He had all the power and authority to stop injustice being done to him but he didn’t react nor did he respond to any of it. Instead, he submitted himself willingly to abuse, insults, hurt, pain, rejection, and condemnation from people.
It may surprise you to know that the same people who praised him with shouts of Hosanna deserted him and mocked him on the cross. He didn’t do it all in vain however, he did it for a reason. He did it for you and me so that we can have victory when we experience condemnation in many areas of our lives. This should give you solace when feeling condemned, rejected and hurt by people. I had a panic attack recently and it gave me an insight into what most people who suffer from anxiety, fear of the future and Monday blues go through. I didn’t know what was happening to me at the time but it felt like my mind was going to pop right out of my chest. My chest was tight and I had very little strength in my body.
