We all have pride. It is embedded in our veins right from our mother’s womb. It’s an inheritance passed down from generations to generations. It’s in our DNA. It’s that thing that makes us feel more important than others. It’s that thing that makes us feel we deserve better than others. It’s that thing that makes us strive for the best in life. We see it in other people and we emulate it. The dictionary describes it as self-esteem or self-importance. If you like you can call it self-respect or self-worth. It’s all the same meaning. Some of us have it more than others.
As we travel through the journey of life, we’ve acquired it as a skill. We have fanned it into flame beyond God’s original intention for self-esteem and we have turned into pride. We have turned up that self-respect a notch and we have pumped up ourselves above everybody else, way beyond it should be. We view ourselves as bigger, better, smarter or richer than others. We cherish ourselves much more than we cherish the people in our lives. We are self-focused, self-centred and self-conceited. We have turned ourselves into the god of our lives and we hardly ever listen to anybody else in our lives. Pride is not a good attribute to have. It’s not a good thing to acquire or to cherish. It actually leads to one’s downfall.

My future is in alignment with God’s plans and purpose for me.
Only God’s word will prevail over me. Continue reading “Lord, Let Your Word Prevail In Me”
There is so much power in the words we speak. What we say today creates our tomorrow. If we want a healthy and prosperous future, then we need to use wisdom and speak words that bring positive results. Our future depends on it.
To declare means:
• To make known formally or officially
• To state emphatically or authoritatively; affirm.
• To reveal or make manifest; show.
God spoke (declared) all things into existence. Since we are created in His image He has given us the authority and the power to declare over our own lives. You might be declaring over your life without even knowing it. Have you ever said, “I hate my life,” or “My life sucks,” or “I’m so fat and ugly.” These are negative declarations that will bring negative results into your life. I know, I’ve been there. I’ve learned that what I say or what I think brings what I am focusing on into my life. So, now I declare only positive words over my life. I am beginning to see the changes! For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
You always hide behind the church. Somebody once said to me. At least I have the church to hide, where do you hide? I responded. That statement wasn’t meant to be a compliment or a pleasant statement, the person who said it was throwing a shade at my faith. That statement was an attempt to throw me off my faith, an attempt to discourage me or to cause me to lose my faith altogether. But I was quick to understand where that shade was coming from. It was coming from the pit of hell to derail me. Thankfully the situation that led to this statement been thrown at me only made my faith stronger in the Lord.
