When I look back on my life, I can think of multiple times when friends, family and strangers have shown me incredible love. Whether it was an early morning lift to the airport, a thoughtful gift in hard times, or just a much-needed kind word, I am so appreciative for the ways that I have been loved over the years.
But as treasured as these moments are, the most precious acts of love that I have experienced are the times when others have shared Jesus with me. Those beautiful moments when people have understood that the most loving thing I needed was to be pointed to Love Himself.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”1 John 4:7-21
There are so many trouble in this world. Jesus said it; “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”(John 16:33). In this year 2020 alone, there have been so many shocking news in the headlines yet we’ve only been through two months in the year 2020!
We have been shocked by the deaths of lifestyle celebrities like Kobe Bryant and Caroline Flack who were quite young and in the prime of their lives. Brexit is still happening and we are in a battle with the widespread Corona virus disease. Who knew there was anything like this that could bring China to a standstill (and affect the global markets)?!
One thing is certain though. This is not a one sided battle. This battle affects all of us; both believers and non believers, old and young, male and female. Nobody is left out in this battle. Our afflictions may be unique to individuals but collectively we need to pray to God to save our souls and to deliver our world from these many trouble.

Did you know you already have victory through Christ over temptations?
We are oftentimes lured into temptation but this is down to the lustful desires of our hearts. We are enticed and drawn away into committing lustful sins. As James explains it; “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away” (James 1:14 NLT).
Jesus was pure in heart, however, even though he was tempted by the devil., he had no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). He was God on earth and God does not have lustful desires. He was not a sinner otherwise he could not have overcome the devil’s temptations. He was the righteous man made a sinner for us so that we can be the righteousness of God.
First, he was tempted so that the works of the devil could be exposed; “the devil always tempts people not God” (James 1:13). Jesus wanted us to understand what it’s like to be tempted because he himself was also tempted. Secondly, He wanted to make us aware that temptations will come our way in life, so we must be prepared for them.
Furthermore, Jesus combated the battle against temptation and won, so we now know that we also can have victory over temptations (John 16:33). The battle is already won, all we have to do is claim it!

This has been a year of answered prayers!
First my brother called my mum one day and apologized. It was a prayer answered! It was a major breakthrough in my family!
We had prayed for his return to the family for many years and one day, my long lost brother came back to us. He sought for peace to reign and by God’s grace we were reconciled. Today my family is reunited. Thanks be to God for an answered prayer!

- I am in Christ Jesus and therefore I am a new creation. Old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- If I sin, I have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1 ESV). 23. All of God’s promises are yes and amen for me because I am in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
- I am qualified in Christ to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints (Colossians 1:12). 25. God my Father has delivered me from the power of darkness and transferred me into the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13).

Doubt may set in. Confusion may find its way to you. Friends may mock you. The family may dissuade you. Colleagues at work or an acquaintance may taunt you. It’s all the ploy of the enemy to shift your focus away from the true God. It’s all a plan of the devil to make you afraid of the glorious future ahead of you. The devil does not let go easily. When he sees that you have made the beeline to turn your life around for the best and you have accepted Christ as your Lord and saviour, he will try all in his capacity to deceive, tempt and lure you out of God’s marvellous light. Staying in faith can be quite a struggle for new Christians if care is not taken. Begum Bilquis Sheikh was a new convert from Islam to Christianity and in her book, I dared to call him father, she narrated her story of family exclusions, community condemnations, death threats and several attempts to dissuade her from her newfound faith in Christ. Her journey to becoming a fully fledged Christian was not at all that smooth. Yet she persisted in her faith and she followed Christ with all her heart, her mind and with all her might. Had she not been convinced of her call to Christ, she would have crumbled under pressure and she would have lost her faith entirely.
