Staying in faith can be quite a struggle for new Christians if care is not taken. Begum Bilquis Sheikh was a new convert from Islam to Christianity and in her book, I dared to call him father, she narrated her story of family exclusions, community condemnations, death threats and several attempts to dissuade her from her newfound faith in Christ. Her journey to becoming a fully fledged Christian was not at all that smooth. Yet she persisted in her faith and she followed Christ with all her heart, her mind and with all her might. Had she not been convinced of her call to Christ, she would have crumble under pressure and she would have lost her faith entirely. Accepting and carrying out personal responsibilities can be quite daunting in the world that shifts blame on others. Thankfully, Christians don’t need to play the same game as the world does but we can renew our minds by tapping into the word of God as a source of help needed to work out own salvation and obey God with deep reverence and fear (Philippians 2:12). When you migrate from one country to another, you quickly learn about codes of conduct for that country and what your responsibilities are in order to be a good citizen. The same rule applies to the kingdom of God. Christians have personal responsibilities to accept and carry out for personal spiritual growth and for the advancement of the kingdom of God. You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. Psalms 8:5-6
Your royal highness, you are crowned with glory and majesty, you are empowered to rule and reign like His Royal Highness in the Heavens, the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords. Your dominion on earth is second to none, your authority and power over all other creations is a masterclass. May all the fish of the sea obey your call whenever you call upon them as they obeyed Jesus Christ, may the fowl of the air attend to your request promptly without delay, may every living thing moving upon the face of the earth heed your call as they heeded unto Noah. God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature Genesis 1:26 (MSG).
You are made in the image of God, to be like God, to reign like God reflecting his nature, to be responsible for every other living being on the earth, to speak goodness into existence, to bring creativity alive, to give life where death lies, to ring the truth where lies have become the second nature. You are made in the image of God to reflect his nature, to bring order into a chaotic world, to cast light upon a shadow and be the light in the darkness. You are created to make good and lovely things out of nothingness, to be creative and be imaginative, and you have been empowered to do all of these and more, by the same God who made you. His word says that Jesus is the bright and morning star. His star drew people to him at an early age. His star brought him the most expensive and covetous gifts like a baby. His star spread the good news of the arrival of the saviour on earth as an infant. His star guided the three wise men to his birthplace. His star informed king Herod of the most powerful king on earth. His star is powerful. Continue reading “Be The Star In the World”
