Recover From Identity Crisis

There are moments in life when the struggle gets real and a Christian finds himself or herself in an identity crisis. Those are moments when you are discontented with life. This is the time when you wish you had somebody else’s privileges, gifting or abilities otherwise things would have been different for you. These are moments when you may begin to compare your failures with somebody else’s achievements. Those are times when you may look in the mirror but you wish you were as beautiful as that other person or you wish you had the same lifestyle as that of the other human being. Those are times when life may seem unfair otherwise you would have the same beauty as that of Queen Esther, or you would have the courage as that of Joshua the son of Nun, the bravery of Naomi who lost everything abroad yet returned home to face her fate in the God of Israel, the faith of Daniel who stood in faith even in the face or adversity or the lifestyle of King Solomon who was the wealthiest man on earth. New Christians: Affirm Your Identity in Christ

Congratulations you are born anew. The Christian journey is exciting but there are times when you may need to affirm your identity in Christ in order to win the battle ahead (Mathew 4:1-11). Though you have a new identity in the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus, the prince of darkness will not relent in trying to steal from you, kill treasures within and destroy wherever he gains access. You need to imprint on your heart that you no longer belong to the world but you belong to the Kingdom of God.  You no longer belong to darkness, you are now a child of light (1 Thessalonians 5:5). The race of life set before you (Hebrews 12:1) may sometimes get overwhelming and the enemy may come trying to steal treasures within (John 10:10), all you need is to reach out to the word of God and affirm your identity.   Continue reading “New Christians: Affirm Your Identity in Christ”

Best Scriptural Declarations For Christians To Combat Low Self-Esteem

Negative experiences in life do cause Christians to suffer low self-esteem. Dealing with trauma, loss – loss of a child, loss of a job, loss of a family, negative thought patterns, previous bad choices, unrealistic goals, body image are a few of those negative experiences. This may be harder even on matured Christians. You may begin to wander and wonder; has God forgotten about me? You may even begin to ask God some questions, God why? Why did this happen to me? Why me and not somebody else? etc.

At times when you are feeling low and inferior to others, you need to dig deep in the word, source out the truth and declare the word of God over your mind. To overcome low self-esteem, fear, anxiety and insecurity, here are some of the best scriptural declarations you need to declare over yourself.

Make a bold Declaration of faith
I am a new creation in Christ Jesus, The old has gone, the new is here!
(2 Corinthians 5:17).

God is mindful of me. He cares for me. I may be made a little lower than the angels, I am crowned with glory and honour
(Hebrews 2:6-7).

God has not given me a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline
(2 Timothy 1:7).

The temptations in my life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than I can stand. When temptations come my way, God will show me a way out so that I may be able to endure.
(1 Corinthians 10:13).

God created my inmost being; he knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise him because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; I know that fully well that his works are wonderful
(Psalm 139:13-14).

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
(Psalm 62:5-6).

God satisfies me when I’m weary and my soul is fully refreshed when I am fainting.
(Jeremiah 31:25)

Be Creative

The moment you accepted Jesus Christ into your life, you become a child of God, the God of all creation. He did not only create beautiful and wonderful things enwrapped in high creativity, He created you and deposited his DNA in you. You
belong to a God who is extremely creative. Nobody can catch up with him. Nobody can surpass him in creation. He is enwrapped in creativity and he is ever evolving.

You are one of his creation and he has deposited his genius DNA inside of you. He expects you to develop, grow, reproduce and multiply in creativity. God has empowered you to emulate his creativity, he said; ‘let us create man in our own image and after our likeness’,(Genesis 1:26). You have been created to be like the living God. The God who created all things in the heavens and on the earth.

You have been created to mirror the God who created days and night and wrapped them up in the stars, the moon, and the sun. He created all the animals with four legs, two legs and the ones that crawl on the earth, and he made the jungle their home. He created the birds of the air and great beast in the wilds and the great whale in the sea, and he provides for their daily upkeep. Look around you, you are surrounded by God’s creative creations and you have been created to do the same.

You are Created to be Creative. Genesis 1:26Let us take a look at one of God’s creation, leaves. Have you ever stopped to ponder on how beautiful leaves are? Pick up a leaf and study it, ponder upon it and have a look at the patterns, the shape, the colour, the stems and the branches. There is a lot of thoughts and creativity that went into creating that leaf.

Leaves are beautiful and intrinsically whole. Imagine the amount of creativity that went into perfecting that leaf. It is the same amount of excellence, imagination, wisdom, insight and creativity that God has deposited on the inside of you, just so that you can be like God. you are created by God to be creative. Make a decision to emulate God in this new season, prepare your mind to be ready for a challenge. Make up your mind to walk in God’s footstep and be ready to surprise yourself and the world around you.

Make a Bold Declaration of Faith

I declare I am my father’s daughter/son. I am a child of the living God created in his image and after his likeness. I am enabled with the spirit of the living God to bring into existence hidden gems. I am equipped with the power from on high for great inventions and discoveries. God has empowered me to accomplish great things. He will use me for good works and bring about his plans of long ago into past in my life. I will accomplish greater works in this life (Genesis 1:26 (NLT)) this is my declaration.

I have not come to the world out of my own accord. I exist by the power of God and for his glory so that his purposes and plans on earth might be fulfilled. I am empowered with the spirit of God with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge and with all manner of creativity for great works. I will not fail in my assignment. I will not fail in my calling. God’s will shall be done in my life. (Exodus 35:30-33) This is my declaration.

I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am created to do wonderful things that are too much for the mind to understand. I am capable of using my intellect to bring about positive change in the world. God has given me a wise heart and I will carry out my assignment on earth with godly wisdom (Psalm 139:13-14 (NLT), Romans 11:36 (NLT),1st Kings 3:12 (KJV)) This is my declaration.

I declare my new DNA is interwoven in the DNA of a creative God. I am henceforth enabled with a creative mind to do exceedingly, abundantly much more than I can ever imagine. above my peers. I will come up with new ideas and bring solutions to problems around me. (Genesis 1:16)

I declare I am God’s masterpiece and I carry the spirit of excellence within me. God makes me an expert in my field of work. Hence, I rise above principalities and powers of this world so that God’s name may be glorified on earth (Ephesians 2:10 (NLT). This is my declaration

I declare that I have the foresight to see beyond the present. God has given me ideas that will last for generations to come and bring about thenew inventions the world needs to be a better place.

Declare Your New Identity In God

God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature
Genesis 1:26 (MSG).

You are made in the image of God, to be like God, to reign like God reflecting his nature, to be responsible for every other living being on the earth, to speak goodness into existence, to bring creativity alive, to give life where death lies, to ring the truth where lies have become the second nature. You are made in the image of God to reflect his nature, to bring order into a chaotic world, to cast light upon a shadow and be the light in the darkness. You are created to make good and lovely things out of nothingness, to be creative and be imaginative, and you have been empowered to do all of these and more, by the same God who made you. Be The Salt of The Earth.

Praise God. You are the salt of the earth! You have been cleansed through the blood of Jesus and preserved by God for a special assignment on earth. You have been named the life transformer and solution provider the world is waiting upon. Jesus said, ‘You are the salt of the earth’. There is no longer any confusion or objection surrounding your identity in God and in this world.

Jesus came to restore your identity and to clarify the son and daughter of whom you are. You are the child of God. An heir to the kingdom of heaven. Your identity is no longer in crisis but in Christ. He came to give you life, peace, hope and grace so that you may have life in abundance. You are no longer lost but you have been found. You are no longer blind but you can see. No longer under oppression but you can claim your freedom. You are no longer termed forsaken but you have a new name; the delight of the Lord. No longer frustrated but you can have peace, no longer confused but you can have clarity on who you are and to whom you belong. Jesus has calmed the storm of life and you can rest in his assurance.

You are the salt of the earth. Salt gives liveliness, piquancy, or pungency. It cures, it preserves. It’s a solution to many disasters. It gives taste to tasteless bland meals. It melts the snow and creates a firm grip on a slippery road. It heals bitter water. It adds interest or excitement to anything. Its misuse can cause a chaos, a disaster. But give salt to the person who knows it’s benefits and how to use it, and you can achieve your purpose, your goals. You can have victory where necessary.

In the course of fulfilling his purpose on earth, Jesus set the captives free from every bondage. He redeemed the chosen and the predestined from sin and death. He restored faith in the heart of men where it failed. He gave hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, healing to the sick, comfort to the aggrieved. Before his death, he restored the dignity, the confidence and the identity of every child of God. He was the liveliness in every dull environment. He was the excitement that everybody travelled to see. He was the healer, the solution provider, the life transformer and he says you are the same.

Do you believe that you are the salt of the earth? or have you lost your savour as a child of God? But if the salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything but it is thrown out and trampled underfoot. Mathew 5:11. Have you been through condemnation, accusations, abuse or some form of torture? Have you been betrayed, tormented or persecuted? Have you lost your focus on Jesus? Are you lacking in confidence in God and in yourself? Are you going through an identity crisis? Do you know who you are in God and to whom you belong? Do you know your worth in the hands of the master and your assignment on earth? When in doubt about who you are, remind yourself of what Jesus said; He said, ‘You are the salt of the earth’.

Make a bold declaration of faith

I am the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), I am well preserved, I am a preservative (Mark 9:49). My speech shall be graceful always, seasoned with salt to everyone that I might know how to answer everyone(Colossians 4:6). This is my declaration.

Declare Your Identity in Christ

Do you know who you are in Christ? Can you honestly accept the truth in God’s word about your true identity? God knows who you are and He calls you what He sees not what the world sees in you. Your life can never remain the same again when you agree with what God says in his word about you. Why not try changing your words from saying, “I don’t think I can make it”, to “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Continue reading “Declare Your Identity in Christ”
