10 Days of Speaking Life Over Depression

It is World Mental health week and I am reminded of the supernatural help God gave to me to combat depression and to win in life. I have no recollection of the particular moment when my life began to change for good but I remember some years ago when I found myself constantly crying, being moody, irritable and deeply saddened with life. I was ready to defend myself and to fight anybody who criticized, condemned or judged me for anything. There was not a day gone by that I did not cry or felt deep sadness for my life. I constantly felt so sorry for myself.

Everything around me was crashing down and the closest people around me were not emotionally available to help me deal with the situation at hand. The only thing I was able to do was to reach out for my Bible and to read it. It didn’t really matter to me whether I did not fully understand it theologically, I read it anyway, cover to cover and as I did, I called on the same God who gave many people victory in the Bible.
