With all the chaos happening in the world today, would you rather be a Peacemaker or a War maker? A peacemaker is what we all must strive to be in the world. But unless we have the peace of God within ourselves, we cannot give it to somebody else. A man who is filled with the peace from God extends such peace to others. He’s easily forgiving, patient and kind to others. He does not take out his frustration on other people and does not pay back evil for evil. Instead, he pursues peace with all men. Where there is chaos, he brings calm. Where fight ensues, he settles it quickly. He is full of understanding and he protects his peace with all he has in the spirit, body and mind. We all need the peace of God to calm the storms in our lives. We must seek it, embrace it and extend it to others. It is World Peace Day and I wish you peace in all you do. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you” (Isaiah 43:2).
Friends! Jesus spoke peace to the storms. The three Hebrew men; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego spoke faith into their fears. They said to the King their persecutor The image that comes to mind when meditating on this scripture is that of an individual crossing over a deep water and this person is afraid of being swept away but there is someone stronger and bigger than this individual who is walking side by side to him or her and urging them to carry on crossing because he is with them and they have nothing to be afraid of. This is exactly what the peace of God is when you submit your fears and anxieties to him.
