4 Reasons You Need to Accept Jesus
To accept Jesus as your personal savior, you need to understand why. God created the heavens and the earth, human beings and every living thing on earth(Genesis 1&2). His intention towards human being is that they may live in abundance as long as they are obedient to his commands. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve fell into the devil’s trap and sinned against God (Genesis 3). Through Adam and Eve, sin entered into the world (Romans 5:12) and we inherited sin, right from our mother’s womb (Psalm 51:5) and the penalty for sin was passed down to all men – death.
‘we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3:23)
- Jesus came to redeem the earth from sin and its wickedness. Everybody is a sinner, nobody is righteous(Ecclesiastes 7:20), we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Sin oppose God because He is holy and his eyes cannot behold iniquity (Habakkuk 1:13), and there are consequences of sin; separation from God (Isaiah 59:2a), (Genesis 3:23-24), natural consequences such as guilt, loneliness etc, and ultimately death (Romans 6:23). But God is loving and He is merciful. He hates the death of sinners and the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11). Since the heart of men was full of wickedness and the earth became polluted with the sins of men, God sent His son, Jesus Christ to redeem the earth from it’s wickedness for the earth can only be redeemed from its sin through the sacrifice of the guiltless (1 John 2:2).
Say I do to Jesus
- Jesus came to reconcile us to God. The devil is a thief who came to steal, kill and destroy lives but Jesus came that ‘they may have life, and have it abundantly’ (John 10:10). The devil came to tempt us (Acts 17:11)(Luke 4:13)(Matthew 4:1, blindfold us with lies and deceits(John 8:44)(2 Corinthians 11:14)(2 Corinthians 11:3)(Matthew 6:13) so that he can steal, kill and destroy our chance with God but Jesus came to reconcile us with God (2 Corinthians 5:18, Colossians 1:20).
- Jesus came to deliver us from darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9, Colossians 1:13) so that we might have eternal life (John 3:15)(1 John 5:13)(John 5:24) and live the life God intended for us all.
- Jesus came to give us abundant life. In order to live the abundant life Jesus came to give all, you must accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior. You must choose to live for Jesus(2 Cor 5:15), surrender your will to His will and choose to live your life according to his standard.(2 Corinthians 5:17).”For if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” —Romans 10:9
