Overcome Depression with God

I have had a few episodes of depression in my life and each time I go through those episodes I come out stronger mentally and spiritually with God on my side. One thing is certain when you fight depression with God, you come out from under that dark and heavy cloud of depression and you will find the peace from God that surpasses all understanding. You will have a new drive for life, a new drive for your faith and even a drive to help others. Make the Right Choice

Choices, Choices, Choices!
In the world where we are bombarded with options right, left and centre, making the right choice isn’t always easy nor is it straightforward and neither is it something you just rush in to do. When you rush in to make a choice, you will most certainly rush out and you might live in regret for the rest of your life. However, to guarantee to make the right choice, a careful consideration and a constant consultation with the Lord on each option set before us is critically needed in every single day of one’s life. Overcome The Hypercritical, Judgemental Spirit

Criticism thrives in the world these days and though it is good when done constructively, it is very destructive when it crosses the line from the good side to the hypercritical judgemental side which does not promote Christ’s image in any way. This bas side condemns and judges people harshly, one thing Christ never did. It only sees its own perfectionism and tends to think it is above any mistakes. It complains all the time and constantly points out other people’s error without any consideration for the human feelings. It tears down instead of building up. It only drives people away from the God of love, peace, mercy and justice. It is not a good spirit to embrace or operate in it at all.

Unfortunately, it has slowly creeped into the Christendom and slowly becoming the norm in the community. Continue reading “Overcome The Hypercritical, Judgemental Spirit”

Choose Peace

With all the chaos happening in the world today, would you rather be a Peacemaker or a War maker? A peacemaker is what we all must strive to be in the world. But unless we have the peace of God within ourselves, we cannot give it to somebody else. A man who is filled with the peace from God extends such peace to others. He’s easily forgiving, patient and kind to others. He does not take out his frustration on other people and does not pay back evil for evil. Instead, he pursues peace with all men. Where there is chaos, he brings calm. Where fight ensues, he settles it quickly. He is full of understanding and he protects his peace with all he has in the spirit, body and mind. We all need the peace of God to calm the storms in our lives. We must seek it, embrace it and extend it to others. It is World Peace Day and I wish you peace in all you do. Continue reading “Choose Peace”

Speak life

Christians are quick to blurt out what we feel on a daily basis. When we have negative feelings about something or somebody, we say it out loud to ourselves and we project it to other people. For example, when we feel an amount of discomfort or some kind of pressure in our heads, we are quick to say that we have a headache. Likewise, when we don’t understand somebody who is different from us as an individual, we are quick, to sum up, that person and give them a label.  But we do this at our own detriment, because the moment we form those words in our heads and those words leave our mouth creating a sound that other people hear from us, we affirm those negative words and those words begin to alter the realities which then creates the world around us.  Continue reading “Speak life”

Seek True Friendship

There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24(NLT)

Nobody is an island. Everybody lives in friendship. It is what makes the world go round and keeps us on our toes. We cannot live without friends. We are built to have them. There are those who build up and there are friends who pull down. But true friends stick closer to you than a brother and these are what we all must seek. They don’t come easy. They are rare and are specially bred. They are made with a tough skin to accommodate your mistakes and are loyal at heart to withstand storms in your life come what may. They stick with you as you grow in life and they stand by you as you go through life. True friends urge you on, help you up, overlook your errors and they keep you going in life. Stay Focused!

Busy! Busy! Busy! Life can be so busy and we can be so enwrapped in the busy-ness of it to the extent that we forget to focus on God or on His word. Busyness has become the norm in our world and lukewarmness has set in in our faith. Have you tried to sit still for a few minutes to focus on Jesus without getting distracted lately? How many times have you focused on the Lord in this past 24hours without losing your peace? Apart from going to church on Sunday, how many times have you sat still to focus on the Lord or to meditate in his word? Can you see how staying busy has overtaken your world? Continue reading “Stay Focused!”

God, The Master Planner

There is none like you Lord, the Master Planner.
From the beginning of time when heaven was formed, the ocean was born and the earth was drawn.
You made a notion and lights were laid out in bountiful motion.
With great love, you stripped out the ocean and you filled the earth with your great affection.
You made the sky, you made a covering over the heavens and the earth you spread out over the sea.
The expanse of each that none can fathom. Continue reading “God, The Master Planner”

The Lord God Who Answers Prayers

Lord God who answers prayers of the saints,
We ask in the name of your son and
You answer in the honour of your name.
We ask that your will be done and
You move in your ways till the midnight sun.
In your kingdom, it shall be done. Continue reading “The Lord God Who Answers Prayers”

Confess Your Sins

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). If God were to search through the earth for anybody who has never sinned, nobody would stand out (Ecclesiastes 7:20). That is why Jesus pointed out to the accusers of the woman caught in the act of adultery; “Let he without sin cast the first stone” (John 8:1-12). There is nobody on earth who is sinless, not one person. Only Jesus was sinless whilst on earth and there has not been anybody else after him. Continue reading “Confess Your Sins”

The Forgiving God

Heavenly Father you are forgiving,
You do not forsake nor do you cast away in our weaknesses,
You do not condemn in our lowliest state,
Neither do shun nor disown us, not in our darkest moment at the least,
You do not turn us over to the enemy
Neither do you make us a prey for the devils. Continue reading “The Forgiving God”

Seek Forgiveness from God

Those who come to God for the forgiveness of their sins must first believe that he is a God who forgives sin. He does not hold back from us because we have sinned against him rather he reaches out to his children with mercy and compassion in his heart. God is not petty and he does not keep scores with anybody. He is love and he does not keep records of wrongdoings. He searches much deeper within the hearts of men and he measures our motives more than our actions. He is compassionate and attentive to those seeking the forgiveness of their sins genuinely. He is full of mercy and he does not like the death of sinners. He is willing to forgive your sins and my sins for as long as we come to him with a genuine repentance in our heart. Continue reading “Seek Forgiveness from God”

God, The Generous Giver

God, you are great and you are kind
You are the great gift who keeps giving
You are the generous giver who never gives up
You are the gracious General who never gets weary
The kind who never relents in kindness and always cares
The precious provider who never pretends Continue reading “God, The Generous Giver”

Have a Heart of Forgiveness

Jesus said, “Let him who hath no sin cast the first stone”.

The ultimate goal in life is not to keep records of wrongdoings nor to pay back those who offend us with evil nor to hold on to our hurts for a long period but the goal in life is to be Christ-like; to not make a mountain out of a molehill, to let go and let God, to have a forgiving spirit, live in perpetual forgiveness and to forgive our offenders even before they offend us. This is exactly what Jesus meant when he said to forgive seventy times seven in a day; do not hold grudges against anybody, choose to forgive before anybody offends you, bear with others, put yourself in the other people’s shoes and be really patient with them especially when they get things wrong. Continue reading “Have a Heart of Forgiveness”

Accept God’s Love

God loves you no matter what you may think! He loves you no matter what anybody may have said to you or done to you. God loves you no matter what trauma you may have gone through. No matter what your actions may be against love. God loves you! Believe it or not, He loves you unconditionally in spite of your condition.  He loves you unapologetically in spite of your objections. He loves you irrespective of your nonchalant attitude towards him. He loves you in spite of that situation or circumstances. He has not forgotten about you and he will never forsake you.

You may struggle to accept his love as a result of your experiences yet he will not reject you. This father’s love is unconditional and irreplaceable. Your heavenly father loves and cares for you deeply no matter what. His love is incomparable to any other human love on earth. God’s love gives you confidence and it boosts your ego. It helps you come into your own person and accelerates your growth in life. It doesn’t matter if you have never had a taste of that fatherly love’s experience, it doesn’t matter if the absence of a father has left a vacuum in your life. God’s love can and will fill you up to the overflowing.   Continue reading “Accept God’s Love”

Adoration for God on Father’s day

God, you are the world’s greatest, The greatest of all time.
You are the worlds legend, The first of all firsts.
You are the national treasure
The Lord God we all admire
You are filled with exceptional qualities we all desire but can never acquire
You are greater than the greatest, Greater than father Abraham, the father of our faith
You are higher than the highest, Higher than the generals of all time
All fathers get their names from you

Overcome Deception

People no longer speak the truth in the world. Their mouths are full of lies and deceits. They get by in life at the expense of other people’s happiness, they pretend and there’s no truth found in them. I have had my share of being deceived and it really hurts. When deception sneaked up on me I was unguarded. It came from where I least expected it and from one of my closest friends. It came in my most vulnerable moment and ensnared me with a subtle solution to my problems. Little did I know that its subtle counsel was going to be my ruin.

It happened when Jesus was hungry too. He had been fasting for forty days and forty nights and he was hungry when the devil sneaked up on him suggesting the only seemingly solution at the time; “turn these stones to bread” he urged Jesus. But Jesus recognised the devil’s trick to deceive and he was able to overcome the lust of the flesh. Had he succumbed to the devil’s tactics he would have fallen for that solution and that would have ended his ministry (Matthew 4:3).

Be Thankful for Painful Experiences

If not for that heart break you may not have met the right person today. If not for that failure you may not have known what it means to have success. If not for that defeat you may not have known what it means to win a battle. If not for that struggle you may not have known what it means to have it easy. If not for that break up you may not have known what it means to be standing on your own two feet today. If not for that traumatic experience you may not have known what it means to put yourself in other people’s shoes. If not for that character you may not have known what it means to guard your heart. If not for that rejection you may not have known what it feels like to be accepted. If not for hunger you may not have known what it means to be full. Adoption into God’s Kingdom

The moment Meghan Markle, a citizen of the United States of America married the British Prince Harry of the United Kingdom on May 19th 2018, she became a bonafide member of the British royal family. As a virtue of her marriage to the prince, her adoption into the British Kingdom began. She seized being a commoner but she became royalty. She could no longer live life alone but she began a new life entirely. She adopted a new name of her royal family and she gained a new title, the Duchess of Sussex. She is also bound by a new set of rules to help guide her and settle her into her new identity in the British empire.

This process is similar for anybody who genuinely surrenders their life to God through Jesus Christ. The moment you believe in Jesus Christ that he can save you, your adoption into God’s kingdom begins. When you repent of your sins and you confess your sins, believe in Jesus Christ and proclaim him as your Lord and saviour; you are drafted from darkness into the kingdom of light, you seize from being a sinner and you become a child of God, you are no longer condemned to an eternal damnation but you henceforth inherit eternal life through Christ. You are then grafted into the family of saints through adoption and they become a bonafide member of the Kingdom of God. Continue reading “Adoption into God’s Kingdom”

Declare Your Faith as New Christians

Doubt may set in. Confusion may find its way to you. Friends may mock you. The family may dissuade you. Colleagues at work or an acquaintance may taunt you. It’s all the ploy of the enemy to shift your focus away from the true God. It’s all a plan of the devil to make you afraid of the glorious future ahead of you. The devil does not let go easily. When he sees that you have made the beeline to turn your life around for the best and you have accepted Christ as your Lord and saviour, he will try all in his capacity to deceive, tempt and lure you out of God’s marvellous light.

The devil’s tactic is to steal, to kill and to destroy and he will try all sort to stop you from believing in God but do not give in. Stand firm in your faith. When you find yourself tempted, facing trials and tribulations, do not falter. When your sheer willpower can no longer support your belief in God, then make a beeline for the word of God and speak the following biblical declarations to strengthen your faith in God. Continue reading “Declare Your Faith as New Christians”

Overcome Rejection

Rejection hurts and facing its stings alone is worse. It is emotionally draining and it affects one’s state of mind negatively. It creates fear. It paralyses self-confidence. And it introduces self-doubt. It makes you question your self-belief and leaves you with sheer terror. Sometimes it attacks with subtlety and at other times, it attacks head-on, with such cold stare that opens deep wounds. It creates such pain in the heart and feelings of shame, failure and deception. This negative emotion is not something a Christian can merely shake off or face alone easily. Only God’s healing can truly set free from such a snare. Continue reading “Overcome Rejection”

Recover From Identity Crisis

There are moments in life when the struggle gets real and a Christian finds himself or herself in an identity crisis. Those are moments when you are discontented with life. This is the time when you wish you had somebody else’s privileges, gifting or abilities otherwise things would have been different for you. These are moments when you may begin to compare your failures with somebody else’s achievements. Those are times when you may look in the mirror but you wish you were as beautiful as that other person or you wish you had the same lifestyle as that of the other human being. Those are times when life may seem unfair otherwise you would have the same beauty as that of Queen Esther, or you would have the courage as that of Joshua the son of Nun, the bravery of Naomi who lost everything abroad yet returned home to face her fate in the God of Israel, the faith of Daniel who stood in faith even in the face or adversity or the lifestyle of King Solomon who was the wealthiest man on earth. Overcome Low-Self Esteem & Regain Your Self Worth

I have seen teenagers battling low self-esteem by trying so hard to become who they are not and I have seen adults pretend they can hold it together whilst dying from this low self-esteem plague. Men cover up with control, manipulation and outburst of anger because they feel inadequate yet unable to admit their weaknesses. Women sleep around because they lack a sense of self-worth. Young adults dress up like grown-ups just to feel accepted. Both male and female succumb to peer pressure just to feel some sense of belonging. This is what low self-esteem does to you; it holds its victims captive, clouds your judgement and fills up your heart with lies. Lies such as you are not worth it, it’s your fault that bad things happen to you, you can never amount to something good, you have to do something wrong before somebody can take notice of you and so on. Continue reading “Overcome Low-Self Esteem & Regain Your Self Worth”

Accept Jesus Christ As Your Lord and Saviour

It’s Easter Sunday and I recount the day I accepted Jesus Christ the saviour into my life. Before this day, I was still a sinner. Even though I grew up in a Christian home, I went through all the motion of praying, fasting, reading my Bible and going to church regularly. I even said the salvation prayer at some point in my teenage years but living the Christian life never really did sink into my mind.

I remember quite clearly the day I cried out to Jesus Christ to save me. I was drowning in sorrow, guilt and shame. I was depressed and going through a really rough time in all areas of my life. I was rejected by family and friends and nobody seemed to want to have anything to do with me. I had been bruised and knocked down emotionally and battered physically which led to my suffering from a low self-esteem.  Continue reading “Accept Jesus Christ As Your Lord and Saviour”

Death Bed Scriptural Declarations of Faith

Death is scary! No matter how old you are, you will never be ready. It separates us from what we know and it takes us to a territory unknown. When death comes knocking, nobody is able to stand strong and face its face alone. No matter how tall or short you are, no matter how rich or poor you may be, no matter how big or how skinny you may fancy yourself, a day of reckoning will beckon and you will answer to death’s call alone. Nobody can stand against death for you, you have to do it yourself. We all have to face him alone at some point in our lives and only Jesus can face him because he already won the battle against him.

As anointed and powerful as Jesus was, at just age 33 years old, Jesus of Nazareth as brave and courageous enough to die on people’s behalf, he cried out with a loud voice saying; “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” Mathew 27:46 (NIV). As close to Jesus as Lazarus was, his influence may have given him a second chance at life but it definitely could not stop him from answering the fateful call. He faced death all by himself until Jesus seized death on his behalf. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ yet a time came when he faced death alone, he was beheaded and his remains buried by his disciples.

Before Billy Graham died at the age of 99 years old, he made a bold declaration of faith many years before his death, with such foresight and insight into death he professed; “My home is in heaven, I’m just travelling through this world”. Such declaration of faith helps in facing death alone at any age. Such legacy, such example is worth following most especially on death beds.

Perhaps you know someone who might be afraid of dying or facing death alone? or perhaps you are on your death bed and feeling afraid, alone, forsaken and dejected. Making a bold declaration of faith will strengthen you for the next journey to eternity. It’ll shift your focus away from the tribulations of this world and set your heart on the journey home to heaven.

I declare that I have obtained eternal life through Jesus Christ who is the son of God. I am no longer afraid of dying for I cross over from death to life, I cross over from living in the flesh to a life in the spirit eternal. I cross over to live with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places with the hosts of angels and the heavenly beings. Death no longer has its hold on me. When I die on earth I will rise up with Christ who already won the battle over death for me. I believe that Jesus was sent from God the father to bring me salvation and through him, I will meet with God in heaven.

Scriptural Declarations of Salvation for Loved Ones

My brother was brought up with Christian values but he has since turned its back on those things that gave him life as a child. He is currently lost and I have been praying for his salvation for a while now. He may be labelled the black sheep of the family but I know with God’s mercy and pardon for his sins, it is only a matter of time before he gives his life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe declarations of faith over this situation with prayers for his life will bring about the desired change. I believe that the more I declare the word of God concerning salvation over my brother’s body, soul, spirit and mind, the more my faith grows in the belief that God will save him.

I know that God does not want the death of sinners nor does he want them to go to hell or die in their sins. I am trusting God that like the prodigal son in the Bible (Luke 15:11-32) who lost his ways but traced his steps back to his father, I believe my brother will come back to Christ and accept him as his lord and saviour, I am trusting God to bring my brother home to him.

You may be in the same situation as me, been grieved over the salvation of your loved ones. You may have preached to them, shared the good news of Jesus Christ to them and perhaps prayed for them several times but you keep hitting hard rocks, do not give up on them. Let these declarations of faith take root in your heart to build up your faith as you believe God for them. You cannot save them but God can save them, therefore, allow the wind of God to carry these holy words of God that speak over them to reach them, to bring about the change of heart and transform their lives for the best.

Finding Peace in the Storms

This is the promise of God to all his children concerning peace;”When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you”(Isaiah 43:2). The image that comes to mind meditating on this scripture is that of an individual crossing over a deep water and they are afraid of being swept away but there is someone stronger than them walking side by side to them and urging them to carry on crossing because he is with them and they have nothing to be afraid of. This is exactly what the peace of God is when you submit your fears and anxieties to him. You have nothing to be afraid of because God is with you, gently guiding you and directing you on the right path.

When the three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were going to be thrown in the fire, they did not go ballistic instead they surrendered their fears to God and they exchanged their fears for God’s peace; “The God whom we serve will deliver us from you king…” and that God delivered them. He turned the burning fire into an air condition for them. Instead of them to be burning they were having a swell time with the Lord. This is what God means when he said in his word; When you go through fire it will not burn you for I am with you.

It is often said that a life without Christ is full of crisis. Life will always happen. Trials and tribulations will always come. There are times when life may seem chaotic and all you want to do is to find some peace and quietness. During such moment, I sometimes shut myself away from the world and I seek for peace in a retreat centre,  a hotel room away from home on a holiday, my room at home away from everybody else or even a quiet space at work. Those times away from the noise and the hullabaloo of the world sometimes help to rejuvenate my mind, body and spirit, but the truth is, such peace often only last but for a moment.

However, there is a peace that lasts a lifetime and it is often found in Jesus Christ. This peace that Christ gives helps us during the storms of life. This peace that Christ gives is in abundance and it adds no sorrow to us. Christ’s peace gives hope and helps us to stay afloat. Those who accept peace through Christ will always ride the tempestuous storm effortlessly. No matter how strong or how weak you are, no matter how talented or whether not so talented you may be, no matter how rich or how poor you may be, unless you accept and embrace the peace Christ gives in the storms, you will end up cracked open and broken in the storm.

During trials, some people will say, I am just trying to keep my head above waters”. As a follower of Christ, you need not try to keep your head above waters; through Christ you can confidently swim through deep waters of life. God said, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you“.(Isaiah 43:2).

Peace is a gift from God and it is readily available for you. You only need to accept Christ. Accept his promises. Accept the peace he came to give the world. Speak out loud the following Bible declarations until your faith has been made stronger and you will see the word of God come alive for you in Jesus name.

Make a bold declaration of faith
1.
I declare that the peace of Christ encompasses around me. I will not be overwhelmed by trials or tribulations, instead, I overcome afflictions, I overcome trials and tribulations through Christ who overcomes the world just for me.
……………………………………………………………………..

2.
The Lord keep me in perfect peace for my mind is stayed on Him. I trust in Christ solely, I put my hope in him and he keeps my mind in perfect peace.
……………………………………………………………………..

3.
I declare that the peace of God which passes all understanding encompasses my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. I believe that God hears me when I bring my prayer, petitions and requests to him through the name of Jesus Christ. Therefore, as I render my requests to God for the peace of mind, I rest in the assurance of his promises. I shall no longer worry myself about the things I cannot change but I will rest in God who gives me peace in the storm.
…………………………………………………………………….
4.
I have made the Lord my strength and my peace. My days of turbulence are over. I am clothed with strength and blessed with the peace from heaven.
……………………………………………………………………..
5.
I work in righteousness and I reap its fruit in peace; henceforth I live in quiet confidence in Christ who gives me peace forever.
……………………………………………………………………..
6.
I declare that my soul rests in Christ who gives me his peace. I lay my burden at the feet of Christ and he exchanges it for his peace. My yoke Christ has broken and given me his peace. Henceforth, my soul finds rest in Christ
……………………………………………………………………..
7.
I declare that because of Gods great love and his compassion on me, his covenant of peace shall not be removed from me.
……………………………………………………………………..

Biblical Confessions for My Finances – Kenneth Copeland Ministries

God cares about your finances! Sound surprising? Did you know that there are more than 2,000 verses in the Bible that deal with financial issues like money, greed, stewardship, debt, hard work, contentment, provision, investments and more? Just as with anything else, you should approach your finances in faith, believing that your heavenly Father will be true to His Word. And part of approaching your finances in faith involves the way you think and speak about them. If you constantly focus on your lack of money, complain about your financial outlook, and doubt that God will be faithful to His Word, then you will receive exactly what you expect. However, if instead, you proclaim God’s goodness, thank Him for His provision and expect Him to be faithful to His Word, you will receive the provision from Him that you expect.

But I have no idea what to say about my finances, you might think.

Well, we’ve got you covered. Here are four biblically based mini confessions to speak over your financial life.

More Than Enough
“God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, ‘They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.’” –2 Corinthians 9:8-9

Confession: God, I thank You that You generously provide everything I need. In fact, I thank You that according to Your Word, I have more than enough so that I can share my extra with the those in need. And every time this occurs, I’ll remember and proclaim Your faithfulness.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Every Need Covered
“My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 4:19, KJV

Confession: Lord, You know the needs I have even better than I do. I trust You with every part of my life, including my finances. I stand in faith for Your Word to come to pass that all my needs are met according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. And I thank You for it!
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Provision by His Power
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” –Matthew 6:25-33

Confession: Heavenly Father, I know You care for me. I know You love me. Your Word tells me that I am more valuable to You than the birds or the wildflowers. I trust and focus on that Word and You. You know the needs that I have for basic necessities, and I trust that You are meeting those needs right now. I will continue to thank You that those needs are met and that You will provide for me and my family every day of our lives.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Overcoming Debt
“Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbour, you will fulfil the requirements of God’s law.” –Romans 13:8

Confession: Lord, I stand in faith for all my debts to be paid in full so that I may owe nothing except to love others. I understand that I cannot accomplish that on my own, but I know You can make that possible. And I trust You to do it.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Right now, begin proclaiming the Lord’s provision in your life. Whether you need a new job, a boost in your income, your debts paid off or some other need met, begin proclaiming the faithfulness and trustworthiness of the Lord and His Word. And when your financial miracle occurs, be sure to share it with us by email, on Facebook or on the Believers’ Academy forum. We want to celebrate God’s faithfulness with you!

Powerful Biblical Prayer of Declarations to Speak Over Your Life

There is so much power in the words we speak. What we say today creates our tomorrow. If we want a healthy and prosperous future, then we need to use wisdom and speak words that bring positive results. Our future depends on it.

To declare means:

• To make known formally or officially
• To state emphatically or authoritatively; affirm.
• To reveal or make manifest; show.
God spoke (declared) all things into existence. Since we are created in His image He has given us the authority and the power to declare over our own lives. You might be declaring over your life without even knowing it. Have you ever said, “I hate my life,” or “My life sucks,” or “I’m so fat and ugly.” These are negative declarations that will bring negative results into your life. I know, I’ve been there. I’ve learned that what I say or what I think brings what I am focusing on into my life. So, now I declare only positive words over my life. I am beginning to see the changes!

Scripture tells us, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17 NKJ) Scripture is a powerful tool we should use to declare over our lives.

I love to pray Psalm 91 over me. I substitute “you or your” with “I, me, and my,” as follows:
1.
Psalm 91
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue me from every trap
and protect me from deadly diseases.
He will cover me with his feathers.
He will shelter me with his wings.
His faithful promises are my armour and protection.
I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
I will not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at my side,
though ten thousand are dying around me,
these evils will not touch me.
Just open my eyes,
and I will see how the wicked are punished.
If I make the LORD my refuge,
if I make the Most High my shelter,
no evil will conquer me;
no plague will come near my home.
For he will order his angels
to protect me wherever I go.
They will hold me up with their hands
so I won’t even hurt my foot on a stone.
I will trample upon lions and cobras;
I will crush fierce lions and serpents under my feet!
The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.” (NLT)
……………………………………………………………………..
2.
I also do the same for Ephesians 1:17-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21.

Ephesians 1:17-23
…asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give me spiritual wisdom and insight so that I might grow in the knowledge of God. I pray that my heart will be flooded with light so that I can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that I will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
……………………………………………………………………..
3.
Ephesians 3:14-21
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower me with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in my heart as I trust in him. My roots will grow down into God’s love and keep me strong. And may I have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May I experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then I will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within me, to accomplish infinitely more than I might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

7 Bible Prayers of Forgiveness and Repentance from When Christians Hurt Each Other

Christians sometimes struggle with forgiveness and repentance. When we get hurt, we want immediate justice and vengeance. And when we hurt other people’s feelings, we find it hard to swallow our pride, reflect upon our actions, accept our faults, repent from our sins and make amends where necessary.

Instead of fighting for peace, we pursue deceit and end up being defeated. Instead of letting go and letting God fight the battle, we allow the flesh to rule and lead us into taking matters into our own hands and taking vengeance whenever we can.

This fight against flesh is the first fight we must conquer in order to become Christ-like. Christ who was led to the slaughter yet he did not open his mouth to condemn anybody though he had the power to stop his tormentors not once did he lift a finger neither did he speak a word to curse instead he prayed for them saying, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” (Isaiah 53:7, Luke 23:34).

You may not have done it on purpose, but for some reasons beyond your imagination, you may have found out that you hurt other people’s feelings and you will like to reconcile this before God. Perhaps the Holy Spirit has convicted you of hurting other people’s feelings and you wonder how to go about it. The following Bible Prayer will help you to pray for God’s forgiveness and cause you to repent from hurting others henceforth.

Prayer out loud Bible Prayer of forgiveness and Repentance

1.

Dear God, I know nothing is hidden before you and you know all things. You search deeper within the way things appear and you watch my heart and my intentions at all times. (Luke 8:17)

2.
I come humbly before you today asking that you forgive me for when I have not obeyed your commandment, to love others as you have loved me.
(John 15:12)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

3.
Forgive me for the times when I have despised wisdom and instruction and I have not done unto others as I would like for them to do to me.
(Proverbs 1:7), (Luke 6:31)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

4.
Forgive me for the times I have not been sensitive enough to the sufferings of my brothers and sisters in Christ but rather I have focused solely on my own sufferings.
(1 Peter 5:9)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

5.
Forgive me for the times I have not loved my enemies and pray for those who persecuted me.
(Matthew 5:44)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

6.
Forgive me for holding onto the hurts I have suffered from others and using it against my brothers and sisters in Christ.
(Matthew 6:14-15)

7.
Help me to forgive others just as you have forgiven me so that we can all be healed through your healing balm in Jesus name I pray. Amen

7 Bible Declarations To Help Christians Struggling To Admit Personal Wrongdoings

Not admitting personal wrongdoings is an act the world is accustomed with and you will be forgiven to think that such behavior does not exist among Christians. Unfortunately, Christians do struggle with this unethical behavior too. It started from the beginning when Adam blamed Eve for giving him the forbidden fruit to eat and Eve, in turn, blamed the crafty serpent for playing a trick on her (Genesis 1: 12-13). The truth is, despite having accepted Christ as personal Lord and savior, Christians still struggle with the flesh until the mind is completely renewed and life is transformed in Christ Jesus (Romans 12:2).

Apostle Paul struggled so much with the flesh, he lamented; “Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” (Romans 7:24 NLT), “For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate” (Romans 7:15).

The Bible states that we have been chosen to conform to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29) and not to conform to the world. Unfortunately, the world has become like the crafty serpent and instead of encouraging admittance of wrongdoings, it discourages non conformists from doing the right thing. Should you admit being wrong in the world today, you are seen as a weakling and therein lies the struggle. The struggle to be seen as strong, independent, to be seen as a team player and be accepted in the work place, in the social circle, among friends and family is real among Christians too.

Sadly, the underlying cause for this prevalent plague is pride and there is a need to be cleansed of it. The Bible admonished us to stay away from pride, it comes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon reaped the consequences of being proud, he became an animal until God had mercy on him (Daniel 4). We are now in Christ Jesus and we must no longer conform to the way of the world but God’s way of doing things.

Should you struggle with admitting wrongdoings, do not be ashamed of it, do not cover it up, instead seek God’s help in humility and ask him to help you to be considerate of others in deeds and in words. This would be a sign of personal spiritual growth. Bible declarations below aim to help you on your way to freedom from this transgression.

From today onward, I live in love for God is love and this is acceptable to him. I will be patient and kind; I will not be envious or boastful; I will not be arrogant or be rude. I will no longer insist on my own way or be irritable nor resentful according to the grace God has given me (1 Corinthians 13:1-13)

10 Biblical Declarations of Repentance on Ash Wednesday

Repentance is not for sinners only, it is for new Christians, matured Christians and everybody who is capable and willing to admit personal wrong doings (James 5:15, Ephesians 5:11), accept own responsibilities (Romans 14:10) and make peace with God and man. Though we live in a world where people hardly admit wrongdoings, this is not the Christian way to living life in abundance. The Christian lifestyle would be to realise personal mistakes, admit wrong doings, repent and refrain from repeating the same mistakes again. In the history of Christianity, Ash Wednesday has been consecrated for such an act of repentance.

Repentance is when the thief on the cross rebuked the other thief saying; “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? We are suffering justly because we are getting what we deserve for what we have done; but this Man has done nothing wrong” (Luke 23:40-41). Repentance is when the despised tax collector considered by the Pharisees to be the worst sinner, went up to the temple to make amends with God. He beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner’ (Luke 18:13).

A state of self-reflection brings us to repentance and one that we must continuously observe like Job, who often sought God’s forgiveness for his children should they had sinned against God (Job 1:5). Should you be joining other Christians worldwide to observe lent, you are are taking the right step in trying to be right with God and knowing him more through fasting and praying.

In addition to preparing yourself for baptism, focusing on your relationship with God, choosing to give up something or to volunteer and serve others during Lent, below are Ash Wednesday Bible declarations of repentance for new and matured Christians observing Lent. Let the word of God be a sign of the cross to you as you speak it into existence and allow the word of God to wash over you in reflection and in repentance.

Make a Declaration of Faith
1.
I declare in repentance and rest is my salvation, in quietness and trust is my strength (Isaiah 30:15).
……………………………………………………………………..
2.
Today I repent of all my sins and I turn to God who wipe away my sins, and I know my time of refreshing is now (Acts 3:19)
……………………………………………………………………..
3.
I know whoever conceals their sins will not prosper. Today I come before God, no longer willing to hide my transgressions but choosing to lay myself bare and confess my transgressions. I will forsake my sins henceforth that I may obtain mercy and prosper (Proverbs 28:13).
……………………………………………………………………..
4.
I know God is faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), therefore I confess all my transgressions today and I know I am forgiven.
……………………………………………………………………..
5.
I pledge to prove by the way I live henceforth, that I have repented of my sins and turned to God (Matthew 3:8).
……………………………………………………………………..
6.
I am a child of God called by God. I humble myself today under the mighty hand of God praying and seeking his face for the forgiveness of my sins. I vow to turn away from all wicked ways and I know God will hear me from heaven and heal me on every side. 2 Chronicles 7:14
……………………………………………………………………..
7.
I will draw near to God, and he will draw near to me. I will Clean my hands and purify your heart. I will mourn and weep for my sins are beyond bearable. I humble myself before the Lord, and he will exalt me (James 4:8-10).
……………………………………………………………………..
8.
Thank you God for the forgiveness of my sins. I am confident that as I repent of my transgressions, heaven rejoices over me and I am forgiven (Luke 15:7).
……………………………………………………………………..
9.
Thank you God for as I have returned to you in repentance, you have blotted out my transgressions like a cloud and my sins like mist. Hallelujah! I am redeemed (Isaiah 44:22).

3 Bible Declarations New Christians Need To Overcome Sin

As a new Christian, getting over the first hurdle of giving your life and accepting Christ as your LORD and savior is a huge decision. If you answered the call to follow God’s ways, congratulations, you are now born again! All you need now is to overcome sin and temptations of the devil, and stay focused on God.

Sin is awful and as a new Christian, you might find yourself falling back to old ways of doing things and reasoning. One of the ways to overcome sin is to speak the word of God over that situation until it transforms you and you are completely set free. The Bible says if anyone is in Christ, old things have passed away, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that you can let go of the past and you can assume your new position in Christ. Everything has been made new. The Bible also says that anybody who believes in Christ overcomes the world (1 John 5:4), you are an overcomer through Christ.

Therefore, you can live free of sin. And if you are struggling like most people in this new way of life, indulge in the word. Speak the word of God over your life and it will come alive to transform you. The following Bible declarations will strengthen your faith and help you to steer the course of your journey in abstaining from sin and living in righteousness.

Make a Declaration of Faith
1.
I am born of God, Christ’ seeds abide in me. I refuse to live in sin. Henceforth, I will sin no more. (1 John 3:9)

2.
I am born of God through the imperishable seed of Christ and through the living and enduring word of God. I will no longer dwell in sin for Christ protects me from sinning, Therefore, the evil one can no longer touch me (1 John 5:18,1 Peter 1:23)
3.
I have the fear of God established in my heart, I will walk in His ways, do no wrong and tell no lies, nor will a deceitful tongue be found in my mouth. therefore, when I eat and sleep in safety, and no one will make me afraid (Psalm 128:1, Zephaniah 3:13)

Say Out Loud Jesus I Believe

I believe in Jesus and I am saved.
I Believe in Jesus and I am set free
I Believe in Jesus and I am no longer condemned
I Believe in Jesus and I sin no more
Jesus I believe!

Some believe in their own strengths
Some believe in their wealth
Some believe in other gods
Some believe in their friends
Some believe in their families
Some believe in their governments
Some believe in their abilities

But all these can fail you
The only person who does not fail is Jesus.
He is steadfast in his love
He is faithful in his words
He is beautiful in his works

His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom
His name is powerful
He is the way maker, miracle worker and a promise keeper
He is the light in the darkness
He is the way, the truth and the life.

Anyone who believes in him will never remain the same again
Anyone who trusts in the name of Jesus will be saved
Anyone who relies in his words will never be let down
Would you believe in Jesus?

Provision

God has provided everything you need to, not only survive in life but to also thrive otherwise why else would Jesus came to earth? He came to earth, to give us life in abundance (John 10:10) which means everything we need is provided through Jesus Christ. Therefore you do not need to worry over what you will eat, drink or wear (Matthew 6:25-34) because you have more than enough through Christ who supplies all your need from his abundant riches. Henceforth instead of worry, put your faith to the test and reach out to the Lord in prayer. Do not allow worry into your heart for when you start to worry, you doubt God’s power of provision for you and this does not provide the faith you need to bring about your desires.

Your world may be mask with the reality of your present situation but that is not the truth about you in God’s world. You are the daughter of a king who owns every animal in the forest, the cattles on the thousand hills belong to your God and your king. (Psalm 50:10). Every bird in the mountains and the creatures of the hills are the Lord’s. He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else (Acts 17:25). He has given all creatures and plants into your hand and has made you ruler over them all (Genesis 1).

When the scripture says that “God shall supply our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”, this is the absolute truth of God’s promises to his children. Many years ago, a widow’s faith in speaking the word of God over her life sealed this practise of holding on to God’s promises for me. Whenever she was in need, she declared the word and acted upon it until it becomes a reality. One by one, her needs were met.

The Bible says that; “The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing (Psalm 34:10)”. This is the truth spoken straight from God’s mouthpiece to his children. Even though your reality in the physical seems unshifting and unchanging, the truth about you in the spiritual world is that you are abundantly blessed and equipped with every good things through Christ.

In reality, this truth is sometimes masked by the present circumstances; a lack, a need, a want, a desire who seek but in reality, we sometimes lack provision and this can make life so frustratingly difficult. The solution to this is to not dwell on what you lack but to seek God for what he promised; you shall not lack anything good.

Whenever I need a provision of any sort, I reach for my Bible and I declare in faith; The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want (Psalms 23:1). I declare this scripture because I am aware that Shepherds always provide for their sheep. They go to any length to look for food, water and shelter for their sheep. They go beyond providing the basic needs, they guide, direct and protect their sheep. I have made the Lord Jesus Christ my shepherd and Jesus is a good shepherd who laid down his life for his sheep (John 10:11-15). Therefore I am convinced that he will provide for all my need and yours.

What do you lack? What do you need? What exactly is it that you want? Are you unemployed, call upon Jesus the good shepherd. Are you single looking to be married, call upon the good shepherd for a good husband and a companion. Are you hungry, call upon Jesus the good shepherd to feed you. Do you need clothing? Jesus is more than able to clothe you. Do you need shelter? Jesus can provide. Do you need guidance, counselling, comfort, protection, courage, faith, strength, a miracle? What do you need? Call upon the name of Jesus. He is a good shepherd and he will look after you.

King David understood the role of shepherds. More so he understood the role of Jesus as the good shepherd. That is why he said, the Lord is his shepherd. He acknowledged Jesus as his shepherd. King David surrendered himself to the Lord as his shepherd. Not because he saw himself as an animal but because he saw beyond the physical. He was being metaphorical. He simply recognized the Lord as the good Lord who leads, guides and guard, provides for his children. He saw beyond the realm of the physical and he had the revelation that the Lord is responsible for the safety and protection of his own.

You may choose to see the Lord differently. He may not be a shepherd to you but he may be a father to you. He may be a God to you or a king. You can attribute those names and authorities to the Lord if you so wish to do so. But allow me to introduce Jesus to you who is a shepherd and a good one at it. Jesus said he is the good shepherd. There are bad shepherds who do not care for their sheep but Jesus is a good shepherd who looks after his own. He will do everything in his capacity to provide for you, to protect you, to guide and guard you, to lead you in the path of life and in the paths of righteousness. He will lead you besides still waters and allow you to lie down in green pastures.

If you know Jesus, Call upon the name of Jesus and he will do whatever you ask in his name. If you do not know Jesus, call upon his name still and he will come to your aid.

Make a declaration of faith

The Lord Jesus is my shepherd. I shall not want.

My God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I declare that as I have made the Lord Jesus as my shepherd, I will not lack anything good. He is a good shepherd who provides for his own, he meets all my needs and my faith is strengthened (Psalm 23:1, 1 Timothy 5:8).
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I declare that my needs are met, my debts are cancelled. The Lord blesses me abundantly and I have in excess to bless others with. Henceforth, I will abound in every good in all things and at all times (2 Corinthians 9:8).
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I declare that I am blessed and equipped with everything I need to live a godly life in this world through the knowledge and power of Christ that exists in me (2 Peter 1:3).
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I declare that I will call upon the name of the Lord at all times and he answers me for his son’s sake, Jesus who is my shepherd and I shall not lack anything good. I shall not lack a good companion for he set a good shepherd over me and he settles me in a good home.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Jesus is my shepherd, I will not lack employment for he leads me to a green pasture(a good company to work with). Jesus opens a great door for effective work for me and I shall enter therein for good works.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Jesus is my shepherd, I shall not lack a good house over my head for he leads me beside still waters(a good house in a good neighbourhood).

This is my declaration. God said it, I believe it and so shall it be.

SCRIPTURE
Psalm 23

Assurance of Salvation Scriptural Declarations

There are moments in a Christian life when doubts set in and he needs an assurance of his salvation. Soon after he became a Christian in college, author C S Sprout wrote a book titled; Can I lose my salvation? he shared his experience where he was advised by an elderly woman to “drive a spiritual stake in the ground right now.” He needed to make sure his conversion was forever. You may not have received a sound advice like C S Sprout when you accepted Christ as your Lord and saviour but as time goes by, you may find life happen and you begin to wonder and ask yourself some serious questions; Am I a Christian? Is my salvation real?

Whenever you experience such fiery dart of the enemy, it is best to nip it in the bud before it grows out of hands. Whenever you begin to wonder whether your salvation is real and genuine, whether you are still in faith, still on the Christian journey, whether you have completely backslidden or whether you were even saved at all, be assured that you are under an attack and you may have opened the door for such fiery darts from the devil and his cohorts.

You might be at that stage where you are feeling guilty, fearful, doubtful and condemned by your actions, wondering as you wander in life, am I saved? How can I say that I am saved when I gave up on Jesus under pressure? How can I say that I am saved when I sold out for pleasure whilst under pressure instead of guarding my soul? My saint has been tampered with what now can I do?

Whenever you get to this stage of doubt in your faith, know that you are under an attack of the enemy against your faith in God. You may even be at the brink of backsliding and like Peter who denied Jesus three times in order to save his face, you too may have denied Christ at some stage in your Christian journey.

In that time when the enemy has sown the seeds of doubts and unbelief, in that time when you want to do the right thing but you find yourself doing the wrong things. In that time when you are fearful and doubtful of your belief in God and your true salvation. In that time of struggle with your salvation, in that time when you question your belief and faith in God, make a declaration of faith out loud.

Declaration of faith
Whatever you say often gets rooted in your heart. Continue to confess your faith and you will see a turn around in your belief.

I am saved by grace through Jesus Christ. Not by might nor by my power was I saved dbut by the grace of God. I believe with my heart that I am saved. God said it, I believe it and so it is.
……………………………………………………………………..

The Spirit of God bears witness with my spirit that I am saved and I have become a child of God.

……………………………………………………………………..
I am a new man in Christ Jesus, old things have passed away and all things have become new.
……………………………………………………………………..
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord.
……………………………………………………………………..
I call on the name of Jesus and I am saved!

Scriptures
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
……………………………………………………………………..
The spirit itself BEARETH WITNESS with my spirit, that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:16).
…………………………………………………………………….
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
……………………………………………………………………..
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing can separate a child of God from their Father.Romans 8:38-39

Let us also be secure in knowing that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” Romans 10:13.

How do I know if I lack wisdom? by Mo Adiah

How do I know if I lack wisdom? The book of James 1 verse 5 says; “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” 8d1e87a77f4be424e5ab81c9b48e76b5This book is not usually deemed as the ‘wisdom’ book but this verse speaks on wisdom and emphasizes it’s importance. The wisdom being talked about is Godly wisdom, often referred to as ‘ divine wisdom’ so I can’t judge by what my mind is naturally conditioned to think or what the general consensus is, there is a much deeper dimension. This therefore suggests that there are at least two kinds of wisdom; divine wisdom and worldly wisdom.

‎Divine wisdom is the ultimate goal at all times but how do I know which kind of wisdom I am operating under? In any given situation or moment, we can take the litmus test and ask active questions like; does it line up with the word of God? Is the wisdom I think I posses one that seeks to diminishes others, one set out to please others at the expense of God’s command and so on.

It would be ‎optimum to live from a place of constant divine wisdom where our request from God is for more and more wisdom. As the saying goes, we should ‘grow older and wiser’ but I have found that this can only be attained from a relationship with the Holy Spirit where he is our constant guide to life, there is no corner to be cut in this.

Another gem found in this verse (James 1:5) is that it gives an assurance that we can and should ask God for whatever we are lacking. It is stated like a no brainer, ‘if you are lacking, ask!’ there is no ounce of hesitation or drawn out pondering in the way this is expressed.

James 1:6 goes on further to say we must ask in faith‎, without wavering; “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.‎”‎ There is a certainty about asking in faith without doubting as it is impossible to please God without it (Hebrews‎ 11:6). It brings to light that if we ask God for anything in faith, we will receive it.

‎I pray that you may grow in both wisdom and unshakeable faith daily. Remember, if you are lacking anything, ask of the Lord.
