This is for the Christian who sometimes feel less self-worth. This is for you who the society oftentimes make you feel a little less of who you are. It is for you who the community, friends, family or loved ones make you feel less of who the Lord created you to be. This is for you who sometimes get hurt as a result of people’s judgemental opinion of your behaviour, you who suffer from constant criticisms of your choices or disapproval of your decisions in life, and making you feel less confident of your self-worth. Many people want to live a happy life but they are belaboured with sadness that comes from unfulfillment, troubles and trials of the world. Consider the life of a mother who once sought the Lord for a child many years. She laboured for nine hours in the labour room to bring the child to earth and nurtured the child up to adolescent but for the child to turn against her. That child has become a source of unhappiness for that mother and she cannot live a happy life due to her circumstance. Continue reading “Live a Happy Life Despite Your Circumstances”
The world often offers temporary happiness that comes with material things but there is true lasting happiness that is found in Jesus. It is a gift from God that comes when you choose Jesus as your Lord and saviour. It is a form of happiness that cannot be bought with money and neither can it be exchanged with worldly material things. It comes to dwell in your heart when you invite Jesus into your life and it grows within you when you spend time in the word of God. You have the capacity to contain it in your heart and you have the power in your tongue to speak it into existence in your world. Continue reading “Choose Lasting Happiness In Jesus With God’s Word”
This world is far too busy and far too preoccupied with activities that it often forgets to make happiness a part of its everyday living but the world can only function fully when it intentionally pursue happiness regularly. It is part of God’s plan for your life despite its elusiveness in the world. It is included in your inheritance through Christ and you have the right to claim it regularly using God’s Word.
You need to speak it into existence, pursue it throughout the year and it will come alive for you. Make it a point of duty to speak happiness into your day first thing in the morning and you will cultivate the attitude of happiness throughout the year. It will lighten your mood, attract the right people to you, open great doors you have never imagined and it will take you places you have not planned into your year.
Speak it over yourself as often as you say the Happy New year greetings to your loved ones. Declare it into your life until it affects positive changes in your world. Speak happiness over your life in alignment with God’s word for your New year goals and it will activate your desire for the best year ever. Continue reading “Speak Happiness Into Your Year With God’s Word”
Nobody hides away a precious gift? Instead, they tear away the wrapping paper to reveal the hidden gift and they show it off to the world. In like manner, you ought to uncover the gifts of God within you and show it to the world. You ought to let the world encounter God’s great gift deposited within you. You ought not to allow God’s investment in your life go to waste. You must express the great gifts within you.
Some people are good at hoarding and hiding gift items. But of what use are those gifts when hidden away? They can only sit pretty hidden unless they are brought forth, showed off and put to good use. You were not created to be a hoarder of God’s gifts. You were made to be creative and expressive. Continue reading “Show Off the Gifts Within”
Thank God for Christ the greatest gift of all time. If it were not for Christ, my mother and all her children would not be alive today. Her story is one of the many stories that makes my heart be filled with thanksgiving to God. At some point in her life, my mother suffered from a heart condition that caused her to faint all the time. She was trained as a teacher but she simply could not function in that capacity. Due to her condition, she could not do anything with herself. She was written off by the doctors and one day she eventually gave up the ghost. Continue reading “Thank God for the Gift of Christ!”
You are gifted! Yes you. You who is the creative creation of the creative God. You are beautifully and wonderfully made by the creator of the heavens and the earth(Psalm 139:14). Yes you, who is still trying to find yourself. You claim to be the child of God but you hide away from the glare eyes of the world. You are gifted! Yes you. You have unique gifts, talents, skills and abilities within that must be called forth. You have the gifts to manifest the glory of the Almighty God within. You need to call forth and show off the gifts of God within. Continue reading “Call Forth the Gifts Within You”
Stress has a way of controlling people’s lives wherever it is welcomed. Unless you deal with it with the word of God it would have tampered with your well-being before you know it. It gets to you when you least expect it and it takes over your life in whatever you give it the chance. It creeps up on you at the least expected moments; be it whilst stepping out of your homes onto the motorway where all manner of driving skills are tested or stepping into the office with diverse kinds of personality clashes. Stress is always lurking around seeking whom to devour and if you allow it into your mind it will drag you out but you must overcome it with the word of God. Continue reading “Overcome Stress with God’s Word”
Did you know you have an in-built stress resistance? Yes. You do. God built it into you. Otherwise, you would not have bounced back from every stress attack you encounter on a daily basis. If you did not have an inbuilt stress resistance, you probably would not be standing to see the day. Stress is a joy killer and a peace-thief that should not be given the time of day. You need to not allow it into your homes, your streets or your workplace. You can resist it and it will flee from you. Continue reading “Resist Stress and It Will Flee From you”
Stress is one of the things we all encounter on a day to day basis. If it were human we would recognise it from afar, prepare our minds for its arrival, fight against it or avoid it altogether. If it were a man, we would pull ourselves together, brace its consequences and prepare our minds for whatever attack he might bring our way and if it were a woman, we would devise a way to deal with her eccentricity or complexity. However, stress is not easily seen nor recognisable until it has struck and neither does it come in different appearances of women. Instead, it takes the form of a spirit, travels through the air, sometimes possesses a human body and appears through situations and circumstances. Continue reading “Prepare Your Mind Against Stress”
Desires! We all have them. You know, those things we strongly wish for. Those things we set our hearts on, yearn for and long for, those things we want to come forth and come to past in our lives. Either starting a new business, learning new things, getting married, changing the world, living holy above sin, overcoming temptations, getting through one life challenge or the other, or winning life’s battles. You will always have heart desires and whatever your desires are, you have got to learn to speak them forth with the word of God. Continue reading “Speak Forth Your Desires With God’s Word”
Thanksgiving is the remedy for sadness, discontentment, complaints and for when things are bad. It shifts your focus from the trouble at hand and places it on the solution provider. Instead of being focused on the problems at hand, King David never ceased from giving thanks to God who delivered him, forgave his sins and gave him victory over his enemies. It is good for you to give thanks to God for all he has done for you also.
Give thanks to God in the highest who controls the affairs of man on earth. He sees all things and he knows all things. He created all things and he is above all beings. Give thanks to God who sees to it that there are seasons and times on earth. He changes things on earth in the spiritual realm even when it seems like things are not moving forward. Give thanks to God in the highest who sends his angels to fight your battles for you even when life seems tough. Continue reading “Give Thanks to God In The Highest”
Thank God for Jesus! The greatest gift to humanity. If it were not for him, in what state would the world be today? If it were not for Jesus there is no hope of eternal life. If it were not for Jesus, forgiveness would have been inevitable (Ephesians 1:7). Through Jesus, we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Through Jesus, we are reconciled to our heavenly father (Romans 5:10). Thank God for Jesus through whom the lonely find a home, the sick are healed and people are delivered. Thank God for Jesus who brought back the lost sheep to the good shepherd.
I recently watched John Lewis’ promotional video with Sir Elton John and in it was the slogan some gifts are more than just a gift. Jesus is more than just a gift. He is the perfect gift the father could have given humanity. Through his death, we gain life. Through his bruises, we gain health. Through his humiliation, we are truly humbled. Through his pain we are hailed. Jesus is the gift that is more than just a gift. Continue reading “Thank God for Jesus!”
Humility sometimes may mean leaving your comfort zones. Every now and again I leave the comfort of my home to babysit or house sit for somebody who is in desperate need of help. Whilst it gives me great pleasure to help others, it can be such an inconvenience when I don’t meet the same comfort I left behind.
I remember complaining to the Lord one day and his answer was; “the same way you have left your comforts for the convenience of others, I have caused others to adjust their lives and inconvenient themselves for you whenever you’re in need of help”. Continue reading “Leave Your Comforts and Be Humble”
I love the hymn song; Count your blessings written by Johnson Oatman Junior. You have probably sang it in church or at home or perhaps you’ve heard someone else sang it. It’s a powerful song that calls humanity to show some attitude of Gratitude even when things aren’t going so well, focus less on those things and choose to see the many blessings that has come your way. Continue reading “Have An Attitude of Gratitude”
Christ said it that “whoever wants to be greatest must be a servant” – Matthew 20:26. This simply means to humble yourself first and foremost if you want to be great among others. And if you want a change for good in your life, ask the Lord to start from your heart. Mother Theresa is honoured and well loved today because she humbled herself. She did not count herself to be above the lepers whom she cared for, instead, she moved her home to be among them and she served them.
It was the heart of Saul that the Lord first changed before he became King Saul. The Lord first dealt with pride in King Nebuchadnezzar’s heart before he was restored to his throne after having been humbled by God to live like an animal. Saul’s heart was touched on his way to Damascus before he became Paul, an ardent follower of Christ and the preacher of the gospel of good news. It was also Zacchaeus’s heart that the Lord first changed before he repented of his sins, decided to give back everything he fraudulently collected from people and he followed Jesus. Continue reading “Humble Yourself First”
In my quest to be Christ-like these days, I have found myself saying prayers for a heart of humility. Whilst I believe this is a start to my personal revival, I also believe this is a prayer everybody must engage with. Because everything really begins from the heart. Continue reading “Pray for a Heart of Humility”
We all know the end time is near and this is the time to seek for personal and national revival. If the Lord was to come today, will your heart be ready? Will he find your heart as humble as that of a child? If he were to search through your attitude and behaviour today, will any of your actions and intentions be anything as close as to being Christ-like? Would the Lord need to perform a surgery on you? Would he have to remove stubbornness and pride from you in exchange for a heart of humility? Continue reading “Prepare Your Heart: Be Humble”
When we speak the word of God over ourselves, we align ourselves to God’s word over us and our household. The reward of this is that it renews our minds and it gives us fresh perspectives. It transforms our lives and changes our world in accordance to God’s plans and purposes for his children. Each Bible declarations will put you in a perfect alignment with God’s promises. The more you speak the word out loud, it enters your ears, registers on your heart and it begins to work its ways in your life.
- I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places through Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). I am chosen to be in Christ before the foundation of the world so that I can be holy and blameless on judgement day before the Father (Ephesians 1:4).
- I was predestined for adoption as a daughter of God by the Father through Jesus Christ for the good pleasure of the Father’s will (Ephesians 1:5).
- The Father accepts me into his family. I am his beloved (Ephesians 1:6).
If the devil tempted Jesus Christ at his most vulnerable moments, he will most likely tempt you Christ’s follower. The devil does not leave any stone unturned and he has convinced himself to chase down Christians by any means possible in order to steal, kill and destroy the work of Christ on Calvary. Temptations come when you least expect it. An innocent act here, a little white lie there and by the time you know it, you are neck deep in it. Even when you keep yourself pure, the devil will find a way around to tempt you and that’s why Paul warned the Christians in Corinth saying; “Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall” (1 Corinthians 10:12) Continue reading “Overcome Temptations”
I was going through my inbox one day when I stumbled upon an old email from a friend. The email content contained a long hurting conversation with my friend. We were both offended by each others behaviour and felt hurt towards each other, yet none of us was willing to back down. My friend and I have since reconciled our differences but for many years before our reconciliation, my hurt was buried deep within my heart and I carried on with life as if it things were good. Time they say heals pain, it was not until the cause of my pain resurfaced in an old email did I realise that I was still hurting. Thankfully the Holy Spirit intervened and I received my complete healing. Continue reading “Healing for the Hurting Christians”
I remember the day my heart was broken over past sins. Before that day, I was stubborn, proud, selfish, immature and I made hasty decisions. I didn’t know I was all these but a time came when God convicted me of these sins and my heart was completely broken. I was overwhelmed by God’s mercy and how without condemnation or rejection, he steadily broke my heart for what breaks his heart. Though my sins were exhumed from deep within, God healed my broken heart with his forgiveness and his great love. Continue reading “Healing for the Heartbroken Christians”
Everybody wants peace of mind but nobody is actively seeking this peace. With headlines filled with terrorist news and breaking news that fuels fear in the heart of mind leading to aggravations, financial downturn affecting people’s finances enslaving them to money making machines, public unrest and political disorder creating worries in homes that leads to domestic assault, gun crimes and knife crimes creating false confidence in the heart of the youth; nobody seems to know the time to seek for the peace of mind. Continue reading “Seek for the Peace of Mind”
Doing good for others surely has its reward although its reward must not be your motivation but to fulfil the will of him that sent you in being the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). I can never forget my return from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Compassion UK in January 2017. I didn’t expect anything in return but upon my return from the trip, I was pleasantly surprised to have read from local newspapers who had carried the news about the fundraising project. It did not stop there but we went on to have an interview about it all on Jesus House radio. When I extended myself a little bit to help others, its news spread across the board. Continue reading “Build the “Goodness” Character”
Sometimes we hold God responsible for bad things that happen to us. We accuse him of neglecting us during difficulties. We lose our peace with God as a result whilst demanding to know why he did not prevent that incident from happening. We blame him and we hold out on him. We turn our back on the Prince of Peace and we hold grudges with the same God who is able to turn that situation around. How then can we be healed, delivered and forgiven if we keep the doors of our hearts shut against the Prince of peace? How can he right the wrongs if we keep up the walls of our heart and sealed against his love. How can we experience his love if we keep hating, keep running, keep despising the author of peace? Continue reading “Make Peace With God”
If you were to go for an interview, career coaches will tell you to speak to yourself in the mirror or talk to friends in order to boost your confidence. The same principle applies when walking into a room full of strangers; life coaches will tell you, speak to yourself before you get to the venue, walk tall, make eye contact with somebody in the room and smile so that you may appear confident. In the kingdom of God, however, you do not need to fake it till you make it, you can simply claim the truth God has said about you and believe that your confidence will shoot through the roof. Continue reading “Boost Your Self-Confidence.”
Sin is awful and as a new Christian, you might find yourself falling back to old ways of doing things and reasoning. One of the ways to overcome sin is to speak the word of God over that situation until it transforms you and you are completely set free. The Bible says if anyone is in Christ, old things have passed away, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that you can let go of the past and you can assume your new position in Christ. Everything has been made new. The Bible also says that anybody who believes in Christ overcomes the world (1 John 5:4), you are an overcomer through Christ. Continue reading “Overcome Sin”
Walking alone in the world without God is foolhardy. And leaning on your own understanding without asking God for wisdom and direction can only lead to one thing; death. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it is the way of death (Proverbs 16:25 (CSB)”). God is all knowing like God and his ways lead to life. He is the only omnipotent and omniscient in existence. With him you are safe and found. Without him you are lost and in danger in the world. When you follow God’s ways, salvation is guaranteed, you can experience deliverance, your redemption is secured and you are protected from impending evil. Continue reading “Walk With God”
You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. Psalms 8:5-6
Your royal highness, you are crowned with glory and majesty, you are empowered to rule and reign like His Royal Highness in the Heavens, the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords. Your dominion on earth is second to none, your authority and power over all other creations is a masterclass. May all the fish of the sea obey your call whenever you call upon them as they obeyed Jesus Christ, may the fowl of the air attend to your request promptly without delay, may every living thing moving upon the face of the earth heed your call as they heeded unto Noah. God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Genesis 1:28.
You are too blessed to be stressed. You are blessed by God, the maker of the heavens and the earth. The owner of all things on earth and in the heavens has released his blessings upon you and you must prosper. Everything you need to prosper has been released to you by your creator. You have skills, gifts and abilities of a God to do exceedingly well on whatever you set your heart to do on the earth. God has blessed you with immeasurable blessings and he has also commanded you to put to practice his blessings upon your life. Continue reading “Declare God’s Blessings Over Your Life”
God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature Genesis 1:26 (MSG).
You are made in the image of God, to be like God, to reign like God reflecting his nature, to be responsible for every other living being on the earth, to speak goodness into existence, to bring creativity alive, to give life where death lies, to ring the truth where lies have become the second nature. You are made in the image of God to reflect his nature, to bring order into a chaotic world, to cast light upon a shadow and be the light in the darkness. You are created to make good and lovely things out of nothingness, to be creative and be imaginative, and you have been empowered to do all of these and more, by the same God who made you. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
You always hide behind the church. Somebody once said to me. At least I have the church to hide, where do you hide? I responded. That statement wasn’t meant to be a compliment or a pleasant statement, the person who said it was throwing a shade at my faith. That statement was an attempt to throw me off my faith, an attempt to discourage me or to cause me to lose my faith altogether. But I was quick to understand where that shade was coming from. It was coming from the pit of hell to derail me. Thankfully the situation that led to this statement been thrown at me only made my faith stronger in the Lord. “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.” Ezekiel 36:26-
Do you remember when you first fell in love? Did it not feel like having a new heart completely? It’s a feeling of unexplainable joy, a feeling of excitement, a feeling of newness. How about when you first gave your life to Jesus? did you not feel that something was different? At least you must have heard family and friends say to you that something is different about you, right? That is because you had a change of heart from the Lord. Today is a new day. This is a new start. Today is the day I choose to forget the past and I look forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13). I Start afresh with new opportunities in front of me. I declare old things to pass away and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is my day of joy. This is my year of accomplishment. This is my year of greatness. This is my year of success. This is my year of peace. This is my year of hope. This is my year of fulfillment. This year is filled with brighter future. Continue reading “Declare All Things New”
Most people often see the start of a New Year as a fresh start. We write new goals, new vision, missions and objectives for the new beginning. And we hope for the best to accomplish tangible things in the year. Congratulations! You made it into the New Year alive. Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness in your life. Shout it out from your lungs and let the whole world know the Lord is good and his mercies endures forever.
Many people wish they would see and make it to the new year but they did not make it. You made it into the new year not because of your doing; you made it into the year not because of your good deeds nor for your good look, you made it because the Lord God is gracious to you. He showers you with his mercies, he sustains and helps you in all your doings. What could have swallowed you up in the year 2016 only served as a conduit to a new you? Today you are alive, you are still standing and you can hope for a better tomorrow. Continue reading “Thank God for New Beginnings!”
The Lord Jesus is indeed your shepherd. He’s a good shepherd. He will not suffer his sheep. He always looks out for his sheep. He calls out to his sheep and his sheep his hear his voice and they obey.
A good shepherd sees to it that his sheep lack nothing. Jesus is a good shepherd and he will see to your needs. The Bible says Jesus is a good shepherd, his sheep hear his voice and they obey. Not everybody is Jesus’ sheep. Not everybody recognizes his voice, not everybody obeys his commandments and certainly not everybody recognizes him as their shepherd, and not everybody follows him. There are moments in a Christian life when doubts set in and he needs an assurance of his salvation. Soon after he became a Christian in college, author C S Sprout wrote a book titled; Can I lose my salvation? he shared his experience where he was advised by an elderly woman to “drive a spiritual stake in the ground right now.” He needed to make sure his conversion was forever. You may not have received a sound advice like C S Sprout when you accepted Christ as your Lord and saviour but as time goes by, you may find life happen and you begin to wonder and ask yourself some serious questions; Am I a Christian? Is my salvation real? Continue reading “Speak the Word of Assurance for Your Salvation”
Are you hungry? Try His word. Not to eat the sheets of the Bible but to meditate on it when hungry and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It is quite filling and very refreshing. More often than not this has happened to me. I had been hungry, and instead of eating some food, I would pick up the Bible to read and all of a sudden my hunger would disappear. The Lord Jesus Christ is Emmanuel. God with us. Whatever you are going through, God is with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. He will not leave you comfortless (John 14:20). His hands are not too short to save and his ears are not dull to hear your heart cry (Isaiah 59:1).
Conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of man for the main purpose to save the children of God from their sins (Mathew 1:21) and to set free from slavery (Romans 6:18). He came to the world, not for his own selfishness but he selflessly gave up his throne in heaven just to be with you on earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14), to show you the way to the father’s heart (John 14:6) and to redeem you from the world of slavery (Deuteronomy 15:15). Is your world rocking with the storms of life? there is #peace in God. He sent his peace to Gideon through his angel, he sent the children of Israel his peace through Gideon. I declare my righteousness is in Christ Jesus. My life has been made right before God. God accepts me. I am safe in the hands of God. I am justified through faith in Christ. I am at peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ. I will live and not die but to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living. I will follow his decrees and faithfully keep his laws. I have been made righteous through Christ, therefore, there is now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and of death. This is my declaration. (Ezekiel 18:9, Romans 8:1-2)
Jesus did not go through agonising pain on the cross for no reason. He did not suffer rejection in the hands of those he cared for and loved for no just cause. His betrayal by the most trusted disciple was no child’s play. Jesus did it all for a reason in the season. He went through it all so that you might have abundant life.
Like a criminal he was harshly treated, beaten, spat upon, stripped naked, pierced, whipped with seventy lashes, condemned to death on the cross, so that you could be redeemed from the harsh consequences of sin and just so that you do not have to go through the same injustice he suffered on earth.
