There are moments in a Christian life when doubts set in and he needs an assurance of his salvation. Soon after he became a Christian in college, author C S Sprout wrote a book titled; Can I lose my salvation? he shared his experience where he was advised by an elderly woman to “drive a spiritual stake in the ground right now.” He needed to make sure his conversion was forever. You may not have received a sound advice like C S Sprout when you accepted Christ as your Lord and saviour but as time goes by, you may find life happen and you begin to wonder and ask yourself some serious questions; Am I a Christian? Is my salvation real?
Whenever you experience such fiery dart of the enemy, it is best to nip it in the bud before it grows out of hands. Whenever you begin to wonder whether your salvation is real and genuine, whether you are still in faith, still on the Christian journey, whether you have completely backslidden or whether you were even saved at all, be assured that you are under an attack and you may have opened the door for such fiery darts from the devil and his cohorts.
You might be at that stage where you are feeling guilty, fearful, doubtful and condemned by your actions, wondering as you wander in life, am I saved? How can I say that I am saved when I gave up on Jesus under pressure? How can I say that I am saved when I sold out for pleasure whilst under pressure instead of guarding my soul? My saint has been tampered with what now can I do?
Whenever you get to this stage of doubt in your faith, know that you are under an attack of the enemy against your faith in God. You may even be at the brink of backsliding and like Peter who denied Jesus three times in order to save his face, you too may have denied Christ at some stage in your Christian journey.
In that time when the enemy has sown the seeds of doubts and unbelief, in that time when you want to do the right thing but you find yourself doing the wrong things. In that time when you are fearful and doubtful of your belief in God and your true salvation. In that time of struggle with your salvation, in that time when you question your belief and faith in God, make a declaration of faith out loud. Whatever you say often gets rooted in your heart. Continue to confess your faith and you will see a turn around in your belief.
Declaration of faith
I am saved by grace through Jesus Christ. Not by might nor by my power was I saved but by the grace of God. I believe with my heart that I am saved. God said it, I believe it and so it is.

The Spirit of God bears witness with my spirit that I am saved and I have become a child of God.
……………………………………………………………………..
I am a new man in Christ Jesus, old things have passed away and all things have become new.
……………………………………………………………………..
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord.

I call on the name of Jesus and I am saved!
