Declare God’s Provision Over Your Life

Man shall not live by bread alone

Are you hungry? Try His word. Not to eat the sheets of the Bible but to meditate on it when hungry and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It is quite filling and very refreshing. More often than not this has happened to me. I had been hungry, and instead of eating some food, I would pick up the Bible to read and all of a sudden my hunger would disappear.

Jesus did it in the wilderness. He was hungry after a period of fasting and praying. Instead of yielding to the flesh to obey the devils’ temptation, he chose to do the will of God. He saw beyond the impulse and the emotion of the physical and he addressed his issue with the word of God. Jesus saw beyond his hunger for food and he fought back with what the father had said.

Fasting or denying the flesh of food may cloud your judgement. You may get hungry, cranky and act on impulse. This happens when you fast religiously but when you do it in the spirit, your vision becomes clearer. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Whether you are fasting or not, you cannot live life by impulse or by your emotions. Every decision you make should be focused on fulfilling the will of God for that situation.

What mattered more to Jesus during his fasting period was to obey God and fulfil his will, even in that condition. What this means is that every decision you make in life must be aligned to the word of God. You will be making a big mistake when you make your decision based on human wisdom and reasoning alone. You must seek God through his word and seek godly counsel.

Make a declaration of faith

I declare God’s word of provision over my life. I shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. I will acknowledge God in all my ways and rely not on my own understanding. I will no longer live by the standards of this world but I will live my life in alignment to the word of God. I will humble myself under the mighty hand of God and commit to doing his will at all times. This is my declaration.

I declare man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. I will not rob God of the food he commanded for his house. Instead, I will bring all my tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in his house. The Lord will open the windows of heaven unto me and pours out his blessings upon me until I have no room to take any more. The Lord rebukes the devourer for my sake, my fruits shall not be destroyed and my vine shall not fail to bear. This is my declaration.
