“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.” Ezekiel 36:26-
Do you remember when you first fell in love? Did it not feel like having a new heart completely? It’s a feeling of unexplainable joy, a feeling of excitement, a feeling of newness. How about when you first gave your life to Jesus? did you not feel that something was different? At least you must have heard family and friends say to you that something is different about you, right? That is because you had a change of heart from the Lord.

New beginnings always require a new heart. You need to forget the past, relish in the present and look forward to the future. Your perspective in life needs to change. You must have a new attitude, a new behaviour so that people can see a whole new you and they can testify about it.
With a new heart, you must let go of the past that has so finely defined you and you must embrace a new attitude, a new way of life and new perspectives on life. Suddenly you will become the wise old owl and people will look at you in utter amazement. Just because you have become a new person with a new heart, new hope, refined joy, defined strength, uncontrolled compassion and a whole lot of other good things accompanies you.
When Moses had an encounter with God through the burning bush (Exodus 3), he had a new heart. When the anointing oil touched Saul’s head, he received a new heart and he was no longer timid (1 Samuel 10). Saul turned Paul of Tarsus received a new heart and he turned away from persecuting the church, he himself became a disciple of Christ (Acts 9). This is the time to have a new heart from the Lord. This is the time to receive a changed heart that pleases God rather than a heart that pleases others or self.
There is no need to be stubborn about issues of the past anymore. There is no need holding on to things that you cannot control. Let go and let God. Let your heart run for the positive things in life, allow your mind the possibilities God has to offer. Do not succumb to the tactics of the enemy, his plan is to keep you in the past but God’s plan is to give you a blast. You deserve the best in life, do not let the enemy lock you in his ways.
You do not see clearly when you set yourself up for selfish things. A stubborn heart always ends up ruined. Do you remember King Pharaoh in the Bible? he hardened his heart and he refused to let the children of Israel go, his stubborn heart led him to his death. Give your heart to God, he already promised a new heart and a new spirit. All you have to do is to declare it and receive a new spirit from the Lord, and he will help you in life.
Make a Declaration of Faith
I declare I have a new heart and a new spirit from the Lord. I am done being stubborn. I am done trying to prove a point. I am ready to do God’s will. I yield my heart unto the Lord, I surrender my spirit to the Lord. I will follow his decrees and I will be careful to obey his regulations. This is my declaration.
