Can I ask you a question? When is the last time you really thought about the people in your life and you thought to pray God’s blessings over them or prayed for their well-being? This is something I was personally guilty of until a strong impression was laid upon my heart to start praying God’s blessings over the lives of the people in my life. It’s not just praying for your immediate family members or those who are close to you but praying for everybody on your mobile phone and on your email contact list, including those you don’t have direct contact with, those you don’t get along with, those you barely know and those you are probably just in business together.
If I can be honest with you, Relationships can be quite hard to deal with and honestly speaking, it is so easy to get carried away with the day’s activities than to take a moment to pray for somebody I hardly know. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the people in my life. I think they are awesome! They are filled with so much grace and wisdom. They’re such a blessing to me! But isn’t it ironic that when we don’t pray for people in our lives, we get stressed out about the way we are treated by that one person or those groups of people? That’s when we experience rejection, the pressure mounts up, that one person makes our lives miserable, we get stressed out and hung up on misunderstandings.
As a child of God, you have the responsibility to reach out to everybody who is in one way or the other connected to you, either via face to face meeting, over the phone or most importantly through prayers. You ought to constantly cover up your contacts in prayers of protection, that they get to encounter the depth, the height of God’s love in their lives and for God to bless them immeasurably. When you pray for people in your lives, they experience the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. Life is kind to them, they enjoy the love of God, they are protected from the harm of the enemies and you get to enjoy building and nurturing that relationship.
To be honest with you, I have been taking small, intentional steps to strengthen my relationships through prayers and the results have been profound. So far, long lost friends have reconnected with me, my network of relationships has seen an increase through God’s plan for us – to increase and multiply on the surface of the earth, and I am enjoying a dose of peace in relationships that matter to me. Trust me, implementing this prayer habit in your relationship will make all the difference in your life.
