Memorable Scripture: God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power to overcome obstacles, love to conquer hatred and sound mind to make the right decisions (2 Timothy 1:7).
Fear has a way of holding us captives, stopping us from moving forward and making us get stuck in the rat race of life. However, you can fight your fears and overcome the battle no matter how stuck you are in life. Even if your fear is so powerful for the enemy to use against you for many years, you can conquer your fears if you set your mind on it. Although you do not see the light at the end of the tunnel immediately, your victory is sure when you engage your mind to overcome. Suppose life is full of anxieties, worries, doubts and fears of the future for you and you continue to accommodate these plagues, then you’re sabotaging yourself by crippling your victory.
Instead, you want to live in freedom with boldness and courage because fear is the rod of the wicked that should not rest on the lots of the righteous (Psalm 125:3). That rod is for the wicked, not God’s own children. You are a child of the living God, and fear should not have a hold on you. God is your light and salvation (Psalm 27:1). Fear should not cripple you. Christ in you is greater than the fears in your heart (1 John 4:4). You do not have to be afraid of anything.
The enemy has power and releases fear on the people who do not have Christ as their Lord and salvation, but he cannot cross his boundaries to do the same thing with the children of God and believers in Christ. When you feel fear rising as a Christ-follower, call unto Jesus and He will rescue you. That was what Peter did when he felt fear while walking on water. He called out to Jesus and He saved him (Matthew 14:22-33). You should not welcome fear into your heart. It does not have the right to torment or terrorise you, and you should not give him the right of passage to you. Instead, conquer him by declaring the Word of God against it, and he will flee from you. Otherwise, he will go the extra mile and overstep his boundaries.
There is at least 365 fear not in the Bible and you ought to be declaring some of the Bible verses over yourself daily. That is one scripture verse for each day of the year to help you combat fear in any situation or circumstances. As for me and my household, we face this fear with God’s truth. We are declaring faith-filled promises of God over our lives and believe that we will win this battle for as long as we hold on to God’s word.
You also can face your fears and fight them with God’s word. Join the community of believers speaking biblical declarations that work against fear into existence. Buy your declaration and prayer cards, and let them be your companion to fight this fear every day of the year. Pray God’s promises over your home, too and see God’s power come alive to deliver you.

April 22, 2020 at 9:23 amThought provoking words Ayoola.
In the initial three weeks of the lockdown down, I had a sense of foreboding as the reports of deaths in Italy and UK piled up. However, this led me to plug in more to God in prayer.
My go to song of worship was “Waymaker”. That soothed my anxious soul.
But one of the great thing to come out of this was the ability to reach out and check up on friends I had not seen nor spoken to in years.
The biggest one is that- for the first time in a few years, my father and all His Children (I and my siblings) raised a family Altar of Prayer unto God.
We have done this now for over 3 weeks (every single day, connecting online to pray, worship and have banter 🤣).
This has brought joy, rest, and assurance of Gods protection over us all.
The other thing, has been the word of God!
Psalm 91 is my ‘Best Friend’, an anchor for my soul.
So to conclude:
– The Word of God has been the best medicine.
– Prayer (private & collective) has been beautiful and humbling.
– Raising and refreshing family bonds is priceless.
This lockdown has allowed me to hear and think better.
I hate that people are sick and have died. I will keep praying for it to end as quickly as it came.
But once the lockdown is lifted, I will miss the time of solitude in these unprecedented times.
I hope and pray for a personal transformation and for all parts of my life which need work- to be made new by God, accompanied with Grace, Wisdom and strength to remain in it.

April 22, 2020 at 10:58 amThanks so much for sharing Adesuwa. Raising a prayer altar is definitely very important during this period. It’s also very important to keep connecting with people both loved ones, acquaintances and those we have lost touch with. You’r eon the right track. Thanks so much for your comment. May God protect us all.
