Did you ever wonder why some people’s ways and paths in life seems to be quite smooth and straightforward? Have you experienced that feelings of confusion on which is the way to go? Have you ever asked yourself, where am I headed in life? Everybody claims to know the way but these ways often lead to sadness, rejection, frustration, condemnation and eventually death. There are so many choices to choose from but there is only one true way, the way of the Word (John 1:1, Psalm 119:9).
Wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many go in by (Matthew 7:13)
The way of the world is wide and enticing yet it often leads to destruction. Many love and prefers it above any other way and they are full of painful regrets. But narrow is the way that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:13-14) and Jesus is the way to eternal life.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Nobody can see God except through Jesus (John 14:6).
The way to eternal life is the way of the word. Though it is narrow, often uninviting and less travelled, it brings peace, joy and it does not end in tears or fears. Jesus has prepared this way (John 14:2-3), enter through it for a fulfilled life. Anybody who comes to Jesus finds fulfilment in life. A life void of Jesus is often tossed to and fro leading to chaos, confusion and frustration. Your life need not be a part of that lifestyle.
You can quit dilly-dallying. Stop yielding to a storm filled life and hold on to peace in the midst of the storm. Do you find yourself stumbling through life? There’s a way out. Do you want a sense of clear direction? There is a clear path to take. Do you feel like a little child stumbling through his steps when learning to walk? There is a way, the truth and the life. Jesus is the way you need for a clear direction and a smooth sailing in life. Life should be smooth sailing or at least, you should have a clear-cut sense of direction.
The way forward is to acknowledge God as the way maker and follow his leading. There is a need to clear the way before we can make a headway. There is a need to acknowledge the way maker before we can acquire the right knowledge for the true way. Why not start with God and let him lead the way to fulfilment. Choose life and choose Jesus (Deuteronomy 30:19, John 14:6).
Make a declaration of faith
I declare my ways are smooth, my path is straight, I will no longer stumble through life. Today I choose Jesus as the way, the truth and the life. He will lead me on the right path for my life. Through him I have access to the throne of grace and mercy, my ways shall be levelled, my paths shall be made straight. I will trust in him with all my heart and he will lead me and guide me on the best path for my life. I will acknowledge God in all my ways and he will direct my path. This is my declaration.
