Ever heard the phrase, tell the truth and let the devil be ashamed? The truths that you know will always set you free and its the best antidote against . whereas lies keeps you in bandage and the basis of all temptations are lies. So when facing temptations of any type, be it the list of flesh, the lust of the eye or the pride of life, let your first inclination be to seek truths in that moment and speak your truths into existence. Then the best way to overcome temptations is to speak truths to the basis of all temptations- lies. Case in point, Jesus Christ overcame temptations in the wilderness by speaking truths against the tempters lies and Joseph the dreamer spoke his truth to power when faced with temptation at the portiphars House. He said, it is not lawful of me to do this eveil agains tmy master(Bible verse here). sayan deceived Eve with a twisted truth and tempted her with the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Unfortunately, Eve fell and her world turned upside down. So to speak truths when facing this life crisis is to overcome satans powers and live your abindant life in Christ. The believers who read the bible daily will know this truth and soak up on biblical truths to combat temptations. It is after all, about temptations is that its basis are usually on lies or twisted truth and the number one usually for themselves and seeks truths regularly will know that one of the best ways to overcome temptations is to speak truths. Since the foundation of all temptations is based on lies, the truth you know and speak out will set you free from those lies. It is the best antidote to the overcomers life and manifesting your best life in christ. One of the best reasons is to speak the truth and let the devil be ashamed. cause the tempter is after us to steal from us, kill and destroy our destinies, but we haven’t spoken our truth against him yet. He wants to break you and make you a subject to his hardship, but you must overcome him. Otherwise, he will keep coming back to tempt you with the same sin and addictions until you cave in. That is what he does, tempt and lure people away from their faith in God (1 Thessalonians 3:5). He was subtle in his approach with Eve (Genesis 3), but not so much with Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11), Joseph (Genesis 39:1-10), King David (2 Samuel 11) or Samson (Judges 16:1-3). He was right up in their faces.

However, if you want to overcome temptations fast enough for the devil to flee from you, you must try speaking biblical truths in your biblical declarations. They irk the devil and defeat him as fast as his legs will take him. Even Jesus Christ spoke truths against the tempter to win the battle – “man must not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). The Bible also says that one cannot achieve these things by power nor by might but by the Spirit of God (Zechariah 4:6). Simply put, nobody can win by their self-will unless God helps you through his word (Psalm 127:1). You need to read the Bible so you soak in the truth in your heart. Then, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

Call to Action: Why not join the I Declare Daily Bible Reading in a Year Book Club Challenge to know the truth for yourself and speak truths to manifest your best life in Christ with other believers? Plus, you will break the cycle of addiction, falling into temptations and sinful patterns.

Suppose you are a retrospective and reflective person like me, you may want to look into your foundation, too. Do try checking out the patterns that have played out in your life and ask yourself these questions; why am I repeating the same mistakes in life? Why do I keep falling into the same temptation over and again? The first step to your freedom journey is to answer those questions honestly. You may find out that you need to go to God in prayers of repentance first and foremost. For anybody who turns from their sinful ways, God will hear from heaven and heal them (2 Chronicles 7:14). You need God’s mercy sometimes to deliver you from temptations.

When the devil comes to you in various ways at another time to tempt and pressure you into submission to sin, you can say the prayers of faith in Jesus and cry out to God for your deliverance – Lord, lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil (Matthew 6:13). The Lord Jesus Christ has been through temptation and he knows what it’s like to be weak in the flesh. So we thank him for showing us the way out and teaching his followers to pray against temptation and deliverance from evil. Temptation is a rampant evil in our world today and the best way to ride above its tidal waves is through the biblical prayer of faith.

Furthermore, if you often give in to temptation, don’t despair. The devil will always tempt you whether you are a new believer in Christ or a mature Christian. So, expect some level of temptation in your Christian journey bearing in mind that Jesus Christ was tempted after a powerful forty days and forty nights of prayer and fasting (Matthew 4:1-11). How much more, you who are only human, made of flesh and blood with no power of your own? Thankfully, Jesus Christ, already won the victory for us so we can lay claim to it (John 16:33) and when you fall into or have fallen into temptation, first FORGIVE YOURSELF. God knows you are human – nothing but dust (Psalm 103:4). Please do it quickly and let it go and don’t despair. We can’t fight the devil in our strength, but we can overcome his tactics by the word of God spoken out loud over us. Therefore, speak truths boldly in faith against the devil and use your believer’s authority to overpower the enemy of your soul. The battle is already won, all we have to do is claim it!
