7 Daily Declarations to Help You Trust in God Completely
Declaration of Faith: I declare my trust is in God’s perfect timing. I have not missed my windows of opportunities. Instead of a setback, God is setting me up for bigger things in life. He is working everything out for my good. I will fulfil my destiny. I will experience His favour and He will accomplish His perfect plan for my life. I am not afraid of the future because I have a God who holds my future in His hands. (Psalm 31:14, Psalm 56:3, Psalm 9:10).
It is very possible to struggle to trust God at some point in life. We will rather trust in the devil we know than trust int he saints we do not know, and this is because somewhere along the line, somebody or something has damaged our trust in people. We get hurt but we turn it against God questioning Him on why he allowed such a high to happen to us. But God is not to blame for our struggles and he is not the cause of our misfortunes with people, instead the enemy sows the seed of discord and causes the heartbreak.
We cannot see God in the flesh yet we are encouraged to trust in Him completely. How possible can this be considering that we will have to relinquish all control to him when we cannot see him in the flesh. Isn’t it better to trust the devil you know than the saint you don’t know? You are probably struggling with these thoughts as most people, and it’s ok to feel this way because it is what makes us human. We will rather have a level of control to manoeuvre things in life than to relinquish all control to God. It’s just not in our nature and it’s not an easy thing to do at all. Sometimes it is easier to trust a man we can see than trust in the God we cannot see, and this is because we are able to hold a fellow human being accountable for their actions than to accuse God of wrongdoings when things go wrong. We will rather have a human flesh to blame than hold God accountable.
But with God, holding him accountable for your demise would be futile. Who do you want to call to the table of judgement than the same God who is the judge of all? But God is trustworthy. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will never let you down when everybody deserts you. When nobody can see the logic reasoning behind those difficult moments, God is there holding your hands up telling you that all shall be well.
Nobody needed to tell Abraham that he was treading on a dangerous zone before he bundled his son up to the mountain as a sacrifice to his one true love – God. Yet Abraham chose to trust God and obeyed. When asked where the animal for the sacrifice was, he simply replied, God, will provide. Had he not known the voice of his God and had he not been clear about his instruction, sacrificing his only son to God without any supernatural intervention would have been fatal. Abraham passed the test of his obedience and he reaped the reward.
The children of Israel had every opportunity to distrust God and to surrender to their captors but facing the red sea and fearing their captors on horses, they chose to trust God at a very difficult moment. They cried out to God and He delivered them miraculously from their enemies. When you look to the right and to the left but help is not forthcoming, your natural inclination may be to take matters in your own hands and to lean on your own understanding, trust God completely at that moment. Trust Him to come through for you. Do your best and leave the rest to Him.
I learnt a really good lesson from recent life experiences. It is to trust in the Lord with all my heart. I had prayed earnestly to God for help to start a project and He had provided the resources needed but somehow along the way, I hit a roadblock, I let go of God’s hands, I forgot the God who helped me to start the project and who was the driving force behind it all and I began to lean on my understanding. The moment I started to leaned on my own understanding, the project went pear-shaped. Instead of praying about the difficulties I experienced, I allowed my natural senses to kick in and things went bad really quickly. That project was eventually put on hold.
It may be difficult to trust in God when you’ve just lost a spouse or when you’ve lost your means of livelihood. It may be difficult to trust in God when you’ve been waiting on God for so long for a miracle. But the truth is that it is better to trust in God than to worry and miss it all in a hurry. Telling you to trust in God when things have gone sour or when life is bad may sound like kicking you down. But this is the best thing you need to do to get your desired result. Rather than fighting or fleeing for survival, trust in God. Trusting Him wholeheartedly and you will reap the reward.
