4 REASONS YOU NEED JESUS IN YOUR LIFE
Need Jesus? They say a life of crisis is a life without Christ, and this saying rings true, especially in a world filled with challenges, uncertainties, and distractions. Now more than ever, we need Jesus. We need His help and transformative power to face and overcome the obstacles that come our way. Without Him, our burdens can feel overwhelming and heavy. But with Him, life becomes better. So, whether you are searching for purpose, healing, or direction, Jesus is the answer. After all, He is the only constant source of peace and salvation that can truly transform our lives.
To accept Christ as our personal Savior in this crisis-ridden world, we must first understand why embracing Him matters. After all, who builds a house without first counting the cost? Similarly, it’s crucial to understand why we need Jesus. The first thing to know is that God created everything, including you, with a purposeful plan for us to thrive in His love (Genesis 1 & 2). However, when Adam and Eve made their choices and fell into the devil’s trap, sin entered the world (Genesis 3).
Consequently, we all inherited the consequences of our sin from birth (Psalm 51:5). Thus, we must face the penalty, which is separation from God, leading to death (Romans 5:12). In conclusion, this separation from God due to sin is the reason we all need Jesus.
1. YOU NEED JESUS TO RESTORE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Sin separates us from God, and without Christ, there is no reconciliation. In this way, the devil is a thief who came to steal, kill, and destroy. Still, Christ came so we might have abundant life (John 10:10). While the enemy blinds people with lies (John 8:44, 2 Corinthians 11:3), deceiving them into rejecting God. Jesus Christ came to bring truth and reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18, Colossians 1:20). Hence, if you feel lost or distant from God, come to Jesus, for He is the bridge back to the Father.
Billy Graham once said, “The cross shows us the seriousness of our sin, but it also shows us the immeasurable love of God.” Indeed, Jesus came to deliver us from darkness into His marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9, Colossians 1:13), thus offering eternal life to those who believe (John 3:15, 1 John 5:13, John 5:24). You need Jesus because only through Him can you be reconciled with God. So, come to Jesus.
2. COME TO JESUS FOR ABUNDANT LIFE
A life without Christ lacks true fulfilment. Although many chase wealth, success, or pleasure, nothing truly satisfies the soul except Christ. For example, think of life as a puzzle. Without Jesus, the most crucial piece is missing. As C.S. Lewis put it, “God cannot give us happiness and peace apart from Himself because it is not there. There is no such thing.” Hence, Jesus calls us to surrender to Him (2 Corinthians 5:15) and live by His standards (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you are tired of searching for meaning in the wrong places, come to Jesus today. In any case, His arms are always open and ready to give you peace beyond human understanding. All you need to do is “confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.
3. YOU NEED JESUS TO BE FREE FROM SIN
Sin traps us, but Jesus brings freedom. Think of a prisoner locked away for life, then suddenly receives a pardon. That’s what Jesus does. He frees us from the guilt of sin. This way, instead of living in shame and regret, we can accept His forgiveness and enjoy true freedom (John 8:36).
D.L. Moody said, “Christ came not to make bad people good, but to make dead people alive.” Jesus gives us new life. He replaces fear with faith, hopelessness with hope, and captivity with freedom. Hence, this is the reason we need Jesus and must come to Jesus.
4. YOU NEED JESUS FOR ETERNAL LIFE
The ultimate reason you need Jesus is eternity. After all, every choice we make has eternal consequences. For instance, would you board a sinking ship knowing a lifeboat was right there? Jesus is that lifeboat. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and through Him, we gain eternal life (John 3:16).
Ultimately, if you are uncertain about your eternal destination, then you should come to Jesus today. He has prepared a place for those who believe in Him (John 14:2-3).
