The Seven Powerful I AM Statements of Jesus
The I AM declarations of Jesus Christ are the most precise and potent way He introduced Himself to the world. Still, the world asks who Jesus Christ is. Even though Jesus doesn’t owe anyone an explanation, He chose to clearly communicate His identity to the world. - I am the Door (Gate) (John 10:9) – Jesus is the entrance to eternal life. Even so, John Wesley remarked, “Christ is the door that opens to the heart of the Father”.
- I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:11) – Jesus guides and protects us, leading us to peace. Unsurprisingly, A.W. Tozer expressed, “The Good Shepherd leads us to pastures of peace and safety.”
- I am the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25) – Jesus promises eternal life and victory over death. Interestingly, D.L. Moody stated, “Jesus shows us how to live again through His resurrection.”
- I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6) – Jesus is the path to salvation and wisdom. Moreover, C.S. Lewis said, “Jesus Christ is not one way among many; He is the way, the only way.”
- I am the True Vine (John 15:1) – Jesus is the true Vine that connects us to God, our source of strength and purpose. Otherwise, Oswald Chambers wouldn’t have explained that “life flows from the Vine. We can do nothing apart from Him”.

He gives divine direction, tells us the truth about who we are and gives life to the lost. Without him, we would be ignorant in deep darkness.
